Ok this may be TMI but I'm not sure if it's something that I should be concerned about or if it's normal during pregnancy, I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and my urine is BRIGHT yellow & i mean really bright. When I showed my partner he said it looked like amoxicillin 🤦🏽‍♀️ is this something I should contact my doctor/midwife about? I have had a Google and it says about being dehydrated but I'm not.

Are you taking a vitamin supplement? They often give me fluorescent wee.

Have you eaten/drank something different?

Nothing out of the ordinary no, it's been like it for a couple of days now!

I would have guessed pregnacare or similar multivitamin too, as my wee went bright as a yellow highlighter on pregnacare. It's something to do with excess vitamin b.

Are you taking folic acid?

Dark urine can be a sign of ICP (intraheptic cholestasis of pregnancy). Do you have any itching anywhere? Are your stools pale? These are other classic signs.
You will need a blood test to confirm it. It’s very manageable as long as you are monitored closely with regular blood tests.
I’d contact your midwife and see if you can get checked.
There’s the ICP Support Facebook group which is run by researchers for more information.

My wee went neon yellow/green when I had a vitamin c tablet dissolved in water.

No not taking any sort of vitamins etc. I will have a look into this; I've just had blood tests this week so hopefully this will tell me something in the results. Thank you.

You need a specific blood test for Bile Acids. This won’t be included in any routine blood tests. Whatever they say, they should never be taken fasting as the result is affected by eating, and you need to know how high the your result is. The higher the result, the more potential risk to your baby.

Ok thank you! I will contact the doctors! Thanks all xx

Please speak to your midwife, for DH neon urine was the first sign something was amiss with his liver/bile.

Marmite and an excess of fortified breakfast cereal turns my pee neon yellow. Thought i was dying the first time. Turns out I’m just greedy!

Hope you get to the bottom of it.

It normally means you have an excess of B vitamins in your body

The dye put into mushy peas does this to mine.
