Well this is scary! You’d think after 2 children already I’d know the signs! But nope! Only just found out in preg and going from last time me and hubby done the deed I’d be 30 weeks! Got to get onto midwife’s tomorrow morning and get a scan booked asap! Somehow find a way of telling the hubby and other kids and the rest of the family! I didn’t plan any more kids but obviously this 1 had other ideas! Oh and I was on the 12 week depo jab!

Wonderful stuff OP. How exciting.

Dustyblue · 20/01/2023 03:13

So pleased for you both! And amazed at your kick-arse attitude. Truly, I'd still be gasping and panicking.

Pffft to all the people commenting on your sex life and alcohol intake. Pointless and intrusive nonsense that is.

Best of luck, shamelessly awaiting updates!

Congratulations!! This is a gorgeous thread. I have often fantasised about having a pregnancy like this as I was so unwell in my pregnancies. It is the best surprise xx

Ineedcoffee2021 · 20/01/2023 10:52

Congratulations OP

I was 27 weeks when i found out, every single symptom known to man, i NEVER had. Im a size 6 Au and didnt even get a bump until 2 weeks after i found out
I was partying, inc drink and drugs, working at music festivals and country fairs, lifting huge amounts on feet all day/night
I only found out cos a mate poked my side, went 'thats hard', i was bloated being on my period at the time but she freaked out as she had not long lost her dad to liver failure and she thought my drinking was catching up with me so demanded i see a dr for her piece of mind
13 weeks later i had a healthy, full term DD

Unusual that a home pregnancy test picked up a 30 week pregnancy

Any How congratulations

really? Why do the early hormones disappear or something?

toppity · 20/01/2023 11:57

It’s a bit of a myth that home pregnancy tests won’t detect a later stage pregnancy. There is a hook effect but the vast majority of tests will still pick up the vast majority of pregnancies throughout.

toppity · 20/01/2023 11:57

PS congrats OP. I hope all is smooth for you from here.

canonlydoblue · 20/01/2023 12:03

Congratulations. My last baby was a surprise and a total blessing.

You didn't have sex for 7 months?????

Wow, 5 question marks. Some people on this thread are very easily surprised and confused.

Cece92 · 20/01/2023 14:08

The woman in the ward next to me didn't know she was pregnant until birth. She already had an older daughter and it wasn't until she was in labour she knew. Doctor told her she had IBS 😂

SchoolTripDrama · 20/01/2023 14:58

@CelestiaNoctis I haven't had sex in 7 years!

A myth GPs believe
The one i saw said there was no point doing one to confirm as it wouldnt pick it up so late
She went on feel alone then had me rushed in for a scan within 36 hours

Sweetpea1532 · 21/01/2023 17:58

Lovely update OP
Glad baby is doing ok and DH has calmed down now

Vicki3007 · 22/01/2023 09:41

Thank you all for the nice comments, it seems since I’ve found out about the pregnancy my bump is way more obvious, we’ve done some baby shopping! Managed to get some essential items of Facebook market place for a quite cheap and in really good condition! My nearly 2 year old keeps saying baby and tapping my belly ❤️ my 10 year old won’t let me lift a cup of tea without saying be careful 😂😂

the movements seem so strong now and even I’m questioning how I didn’t know but doesn’t change the fact I didn’t lol but here we are, in less than a week almost ready for his or her arrival! Nothing like last minute panic to get shit done! 😂😂

Great News this baby is so loved. Scan this week, perfect.

Blessedbethefknfruit · 22/01/2023 10:31

Vinted is amazing for preloved pocket-friendly baby bits.
Congrats again x

Dyra · 22/01/2023 11:07

Always amused by posters being so surprised by things. Like is not having sex for a few months, when you're busy with two little kids and working, so far out of the realms of possibility your imagination short circuits so you can't even imagine it?

I had phantom movements after DC1 for months. Long before DC2 was even a line on a test. I'm also obese, with a retroverted uterus, and can see how a bump could be missed/confused for Xmas overindulgence. Never had much in the way of morning sickness with either pregnancy either. So yeah. I get it. It happens.

Best of luck OP! Let us know what happens at your scan. Wishing you all the best.

elleh2023 · 22/01/2023 11:35

Congratulations wishing you all the luck

LoisLane66 · 22/01/2023 13:00

When I had my first, went to docs with 'butterflies in my tummy'. Yes, 5 months along. DH was offshore so waited until he came home for the good news. We had an exciting time buying everything we needed. Daughter born on Friday 13th. 😲😁

Do you know I was going to say that would happen.

It's like suddenly you know and everything changes.

Lovely 10 year old!
