Well this is scary! You’d think after 2 children already I’d know the signs! But nope! Only just found out in preg and going from last time me and hubby done the deed I’d be 30 weeks! Got to get onto midwife’s tomorrow morning and get a scan booked asap! Somehow find a way of telling the hubby and other kids and the rest of the family! I didn’t plan any more kids but obviously this 1 had other ideas! Oh and I was on the 12 week depo jab!

So happy all went well at the doctors 😊 I think you've taken this surprise so beautifully and glad your DH has recovered from the initial shock this has been to you both

COPPER3 · 19/01/2023 20:17

I am super excited for you. This baby has chosen you... You will be amazing! xx

Slutdrop · 19/01/2023 20:24

How exciting!! Can't wait to find out what you're having and your due date! Congratulations 🌹❤️ and good luck xx

RagzRebooted · 19/01/2023 20:29

Congratulations! You're so happy and calm about it. I'd be having a breakdown!

This thread has been the kick up the bum I need to sort out better contraception than condoms (I have teens and absolutely no desire to go back to baby stage) as I've got another 10-15 years of fertility left! I do suffer awful morning sickness though, so at least I'd have some warning.

Wishing you luck and a healthy baby.

Danielle9891 · 19/01/2023 20:38

Congratulations. You'll have to update us all after you've had the scan.
Can't imagine not knowing. I knew I was pregnant two days before I even missed a period.
You must be in shock.

Fudgemonkeys · 19/01/2023 21:01

Ooh many congratulations lovely yo hear happy news!

i83 · 19/01/2023 21:11

Massive congratulations @Vicki3007 .
Such a huge thing to take in but you seem to have handled it amazingly!
Can’t wait to hear how you get on at the scan!! 😃❤️

Ellie474747 · 19/01/2023 21:11

I got pregnant on depo, had no clue! Only found out because I had an operation and they insisted on testing. I since read that if it's injected whilst releasing eggs it doubles them. They use it in ivf for that purpose.

Sparkling82 · 19/01/2023 21:27

Congratulations OP! Enjoy what time you have left of your pregnancy and the upcoming arrival of DC3 😊

Grrrrdarling · 19/01/2023 21:41

surreygirl1987 · 18/01/2023 00:24

Wait... you were on DEPO? Doesn't it always work?!

Congrats!!

No contraception is 100% effective. Even condom boxes say they are only between 95% & 98% effective because you have to factor in the human factor. Same goes with the pill, IUD, injection but even their effectiveness is less than a condom 😬
A simple cold can make most hormone based birth control useless.

munner · 19/01/2023 21:59

Congratulations, lovely surprise. Hope all goes well.

TheWordHu88yIsMyPetHate · 19/01/2023 22:38

Congratulations op. Hope the scan goes well xx

mandlerparr · 19/01/2023 19:10

I have a depo baby, a nuvaring baby and a pill with condom baby. I am fixed (tubal) and still terrified because some people actually heal and still get pregnant.

I know your pain @mandlerparr lol i seem to get still get pregnant when on different contraception, even the implant lol. Although i cant seem to carry pasts 8weeks unless am not on nothing. I am currently on the waiting list to get my tubes done and dp is saving to go private as he cant get it done through the nhs due to him not being 30 or over. My mum likes to joke that i just need to look at a willy and get pregnant 🤣

Wagsandclaws · 19/01/2023 23:13

I am 51 at the end of this month and still get phantom kicks here and there and it's been 10 years since DC5.

I'm also plus size and never had sickness at all - v,v sore boobs would have given it away for me though.

Wow op what a wonderful blessing and who knows, you may only have 5/6 weeks till you meet your lo if you end up being 34 weeks.

Wishing you a safe and healthy rest of your pregnancy- will check in for updates. I'm thinking boy too 💙

Babooshka1990 · 19/01/2023 23:21

Congrats! I’m always amazed by people not knowing they’re pregnant. How can some people have no symptoms and some be so ill?? My morning sickness was so bad from week 4, couldn’t eat or get out of bed, I would have thought I was dying of some terrible disease if I didn’t know.

Stewball01 · 19/01/2023 23:25

Congratulations. I wouldn't tell DH until you've had the scan.
Did you say you hadn't done 'it' for over half a year? 😳

CelestiaNoctis · 19/01/2023 23:32

You didn't have sex for 7 months?????

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 20/01/2023 00:12

CelestiaNoctis · 19/01/2023 23:32

You didn't have sex for 7 months?????

What's your point? Lots of people don't have sex often when they have a young family.

caringcarer · 20/01/2023 00:18

I did not know about my third child until I was 22 weeks pregnant. I had periods as normal. I never felt sick but I had dreadful morning sickness with first two. Then I felt a kick. Did a test and found I was pregnant. Had a blood test by GP to be certain before telling DH. Certainly a huge suprise.

Rainbowbaby13 · 20/01/2023 00:21

You haven't DTD for 30 weeks 😱😱

CountessWindyBottom · 20/01/2023 00:41

How mind-blowing! And so exciting! Lovely short pregnancy for you too. Please keep us posted and congratulations 🥳
