Could this be a sign?!

Is it true that increased frequency of stools is linked to labour being around the corner?

Sorry if this is TMI, but I've gone from someone who would barely be able to go once a day, to soft stools around 2-4 times per day. Not diahorrea or anything, just looser stools.

Is this likely to mean anything? I'm currently 36+5 and have experienced this a lot more just this week.

It can be a sign as the body clears out, but doesn’t mean labour is imminent, it could still be a few weeks

OrcaBlondie · 17/01/2023 22:44

I’ve had this on and off for a few weeks. Currently 38weeks.

Thanks both!

@OrcaBlondie hope you are feeling as well as can be at this stage 😊

@FebMama Thank you, same to you. Hopefully our bubbas won’t keep us waiting too much longer! 🥰

It's one of those things that can either mean baby is imminent or your body is gearing up

Hard to say which!

I started getting v crampy/achy with DD at 36 weeks and went into labour 37+6

J1290 · 18/01/2023 19:10

Muscles relax more and more at the end
this includes bowels so uts a sign ur hormones are climbing and relaxing things
wuldnt worry about labor yet unless other signs?

FebMama · 18/01/2023 20:47

@OrcaBlondie hopefully not! I finished work today so mat leave has officially begun 😌

@georgarina thank you! I am actually getting quite crampy at the minute. Daily period like cramps and have been for about a week now.

@J1290 yes other signs include cramps, shooting pains in the pelvic area and back ache! But not lower back which I think is most associated with labour, more so mid-back pain.
