Hi all.
After getting checked for reduced movements at 26+5 last week, I ended up having several heart rate traces, scans and a hospital admission due to concerns about baby’s heart rhythm and reduced blood flow to the brain.
Subsequent heart rate monitoring was fine (so they think baby was sucking his thumb) and scans were also fine although he is measuring on the small side but still just within normal range.
I’ve had 3 consultant scans since Tuesday. The first raised the issue of reduced blood flow to the brain. The second was completely fine re blood flow and the consultant said she thinks the first consultant pressed too hard on his head (he’s really low in my pelvis so hard to get at) which caused the intermittent reduction in blood flow. Third consultant (today) found the same thing happened when he pressed harder due to baby’s position, but when he changed position to access his head without having to press hard his blood flow was normal. So they have reassured us that they aren’t concerned but I’ve got another growth scan in 2 weeks.
I’m so anxious now though. I know I may be being irrational. Im worried about there being an issue with his brain. Im just wondering if anyone else has experienced this? The consultant said the issue of pressing too hard is something she’s seen a lot, which was reassuring. But I’d love to hear from anyone who has experienced similar?
