My daughter is 32 weeks pregnant and still hasn’t told her kids. Partner doesn’t want baby and they don’t talk about it, well it’s a bit late now. My family know but his don’t. What do I do, I’ve tried everything I’m worried sick especially about kids, time is running out.

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

I can see why you're worried, that's a tough situation.

All you can do is to be there for her and support her when she needs it.
She is an adult and has to make her own choices - even if they don't seem logical or reasonable at the time.

Are you sure they haven't guessed? Those ages are old enough to realise mummy had a big tummy. Especially the ten year old.

I cannot believe for a minute that a 10 year old hasn’t noticed a 32 week pregnant bump.

cestlavielife · 14/01/2023 20:14

Is her partner the dad of the other kids?
What worries you exactly ?
Baby will be born and siblings will get to know when it comes home.
Or is she planning to give baby up for adoption?

Fea · 14/01/2023 20:24

My daughter is on the heavy side and since other kids has always had a pregnant look which is why you can’t tell. Yes she is keeping the baby. How do you come home one day and say here is your sibling, I want to tell them myself but have been told not to.

Yes he is father to all 3.

That s what my parents did and i survived , oh here is your new sibling
Oh ok then go off and play
What else are you worried about? Pre or post natal depression? Finance? Housing?

MissMaple82 · 14/01/2023 20:37

What are her reasons not to tell then? I'd be very angry at my mum for not telling me such a life changing thing. Surely the children deserve time to process this and their emotions. What she's doing is very wrong amd very odd

rsfgp · 14/01/2023 20:56

What are her reasons?
I didn't tell me 3 DC I was pregnant until around 30 weeks. I'd a complicated pregnancy history including loss. I wanted to wait until I was fairly confident we had a chance of bringing the baby home. The 8 weeks they had to get used to a new sibling was plenty.
