What is worse: pregnancy nausea or pregnancy vomiting

I am struggling with pregnancy nausea at 7 weeks. It begins in the afternoon and continues into the evening getting worse. However on the days I've been physically sick I've felt so much better. I feel like severe nausea is worse than actual sickness. Any tips?

I’ve got really bad nausea. It’s 24/7 with no let up and the last few days it’s gotten worse. I haven’t been sick so not sure what’s worse but it’s the fact it’s 24/7 that makes it hard. If it was just a couple hours a day it would be easier.

I'd prefer to vom and get it over with. Sadly my body prefers permanent nausea!

Please go and get antisickness tablets from your doctor. I had constant nausea without sickness and the doctor prescribed them without hesitation. They really took the edge off of it.

@Junobug I’m thinking I might have to. I bought travel sickness bands today to try but they aren’t doing much I still feel really sick

I find nausea much worse than sickness. Go get anti nausea pills from your GP, made a huge difference for me

May I ask how many weeks you are? I'm wondering when it might peak.

During my third pregnancy, I had HG so both nausea and sickness but the nausea was there day and night tor 23 weeks, and then came back at the end.

I can safely say it's the hardest thing I've ever done and it impacted me mentally for a long time. Nausea is just the absolute worst. I think people thing they know what it's like because everyone has had sickness bugs, but the reality a that it goes away within 24-48 hours. Pregnancy related nausea is debilitating.

Many people will say that anti emetics won't help with nausea, just stop the vomiting. I'm inclined to agree and I was on a stronger drug, Ondansetron, along with two others.

The only thing that relieved it was constant eating, ironically. I felt okay when I was nibbling.

Also, it tends to peak around week 9.

@thirdtimemummy101 I’m 8 weeks. I had nausea with my daughter until around 18 weeks but it was never as bad as this

Sorry to hear. This is my third baby and I've never experienced whole day nausea before. I'm wondering if it gets worse with each pregnancy.

I've got nothing to compare it to, as first pregnancy I had no symptoms and for DD2 I had nausea from around 6 weeks to 15 weeks, 24/7 and just wanted to cry, it was awful. I bought th

Sorry posted too soon, bought the Jacobs high fibre cream crackers which tasted salty and just nibbled at them constantly, they were the only thing I could stomach

Ginger People’s Gin Gin chewy sweets helped take the edge off for me - suffered badly with nausea & sickness through the first trimester but they helped!

IHaveBeenFallingFor30Minutes · 15/01/2023 01:01

I definitely find the nausea worse. It is relentless. Though vomiting is pretty awful, especially if you've just eaten.

I have HG and have had nausea pretty much everyday of this pregnancy - I am now 36+3. My mental health has taken an absolute hammering because the nausea is so debilitating. I used to have a life but all I do now is lie in bed and try to sleep through the nausea. I was put on steroids at 9 weeks (came off them at about 27 weeks) which kept the vomiting at bay until last week, when I was sick for the first time in months.

This and this ☹️. Finally let up after 12 weeks of it, from week 6 to week 18
