For anyone who had a NIPT done recently with ultrasound direct, how long did it take to receive results? I'm on 10 working days now

Mine took 10 working days. And it got the gender wrong! I would phone and chase them to see if the lab has sent the report over.

Onefellfromtheappletree · 13/01/2023 14:07

@Cuppasoupmonster what time of day did your results come through? I rang them yesterday and they said it wasn't back yet.

I opted out of being told the fetal sex luckily then!

Very wise! Both times it came through late afternoon.

Cuppasoupmonster · 13/01/2023 14:08

(Had to do it twice because of the wrong sex 🙄 haha)

Onefellfromtheappletree · 13/01/2023 14:10

@Cuppasoupmonster did they get the sex right the second time? If it doesn't come through today I'll have to wait til at least Monday which is a huge pain as have my 12 week scan and was hoping to opt out of the NT... but they might be back sooner at this rate

I would phone again! And emphasise that it’s Friday and you need the results ahead of the scan. You’ve waited the full 10 days so hardly impatient! Yes it was ‘right’ the second time but the cynic in me thinks that’s just because they knew what the hospital said and were just going along with that if that makes sense… I wouldn’t do it again, it was supposed to be extra reassurance but caused so much stress! Anyway, I’m grumbling - hope your results are okay!

Onefellfromtheappletree · 13/01/2023 14:27

@Cuppasoupmonster no I completely understand! That must have been so stressful! I've rang again and just said the lady who checks them isn't in right now.

I was hoping as there's been no strikes it wasn't going to take long but seems that way.

Still nothing - I assume I won't hear hear the weekend? Or has anyone heard on a weekend before from UD?

just got mine exactly a week later

annlee3817 · 15/01/2023 00:17

10 working days, but if the scan was in the evening the first working day is the following day. I chased and they appeared within the hour

Onefellfromtheappletree · 15/01/2023 09:33

Thank you both

I was lucky with our results.
We had the scan/test done at midday on a Saturday and received the results by email on the Friday lunchtime. This was in October.

I have heard of people getting results on a Saturday so fingers crossed for you. The waiting is absolutely rubbish!!

Onefellfromtheappletree · 16/01/2023 14:44

My results are inconclusive :(

OP posts:
Cuppasoupmonster · 16/01/2023 16:19

Oh you’re joking, all that waiting for an inconclusive result! I’m getting quite annoyed at NIPT, it seems to throw up so many erroneous or inconclusive results meaning a ton of waiting and more tests… hope you’re ok, do you have to go back?

Saveitforarainyday97 · 20/01/2023 09:54

I had my first NIPT bloods done on 3rd of jan with ultrasound direct, got a call 9 days later to say that my blood had failed quality control checks and I’d need a re- draw🙃. Had my redraw on the 12th of jan so I’m currently on day 8 of waiting😩. I have a feeling I won’t hear until Monday now😒.

Tryingtoconceivenumber2 · 16/05/2023 11:59

@Onefellfromtheappletree did your second draw work of you had it? I called to chase up today and they said bottle of blood 1 was no good now they are on number 2 I'm thinking that if there was a problem with the first one that the second will be the same and I will need a re-draw. It's so stressful. My NHS test is Friday and at this rate the results for that will be back first x
