I’m due to have an induction in a few days but I have recently heard of a lot of risks associated with this and I’m unsure on what to do… the wait on c section at my local hospital is a long time currently hence why they’ve put me for induction

I’ve just been through this recently at 38+3. The doctor warned it could be a good few days before I went into labour, but nothing really prepared me for how stressful it could be. In the end I had the pessary plus 3 tablets, and even then it was unclear if my cervix would be favourable enough to have my waters broken or whether I’d need a c section.

Thankfully we managed to go from a bishop’s score of 2 to an 8 over the course of the 4 days so I was able to have my waters broken and the oxytocin drip, but there was a large part of me that feared I’d have gone through all the trauma of the induction only to end up with a c section which was what I was trying to avoid all along.
