Bloody show

I guess this question is more aimed at people who have had a child before or anyone with any knowledge really. Obviously every body and every labour is different but how soon after having a bloody show did labour start? Yesterday I lost my mucus plug (I lost it at 35 weeks but it regrew). I’m 37 +1 today. Every time I wiped after peeing there was more plug but it was clear and I knew it could grow back so I didn’t think much of it. Towards the end of yesterday, in the evening, the colour was getting a bit browner and this morning at 5am I got up to go for a wee and my bloody show was in my underwear. Does this mean labour is likely a few days away? I’m supposed to work one more week before maternity leave.

I mean, I had my bloody show and then starting contracting almost instantly. This was about 11am and by 5pm i was in hospital 4cm dilated
So for me it was super quick! I hope it is for you too 🤞🏼

I was in the thick of my labour (back to back contractions every 3-5 mins or so) when I went to pee and saw my bloody show. I think I was bout 5 or 6 cm at the time.

The few people I’ve spoken to have said they were already having contractions when they lost it so I’m just wondering when they will come for me 😂

Not really. I’ve been losing more plug and mucus and it’s got more watery. I thought it was my waters so called the hospital and they said it sounds like more of my plug. They said it sounds like labour is on the way but no telling If it will be a few days or a few weeks so I’m just waiting around for something else to happen 😂

My labour was about 3 days after my bloody show.

I lost my plug on the Monday in a fairly large bit and then had baby on the Thursday.
I didn’t have anything bloody show wise until I’d gone into hospital and went to the toilet after being examined to see how dilated I was (they couldn’t decide whether it was 5 or 8)

Thank you for your comment! Baby is very active today and I’m getting some tightenings but still waiting to see if they turn into contractions! You did well to be so far dilated without knowing ☺️

I lost my bloody show in the morning and started having contractions about an hour later so it was very fast for me! I gave birth the next morning 😅
