5 week scan- empty sac

Did anybody have an empty gestational sac at their first scan and then go on to have a normal pregnancy? By my calculations I am only 5 weeks on the dot today, maybe plus 1 day at a push. Had an early scan today due to history of MC and ectopic.
Sac is the right size and everything else in my uterus looks fine. But no yolk sac seen.
Pregnancy symptoms have been strong since the weekend and the lines on my tests get darker every day.

Yes I did with my first and now have a healthy happy 9 month old! Fingers crossed it’s good news for you too

The lady doing the ultrasound very matter of factly said there is no baby. So of course we were freaking out until we pushed her to clarify it meant it was just too early to class it as a baby. Not the best bedside manner!

Yea, I had this. Was told that I was having an ectopic and said my pregnancy was "pregnancy in an unknown location"
Turns out, I was just a week to early and my scan at 6 weeks - everything was in the right place and there.

Thanks both, I’m trying not to think the worst. This is going to be a long 10 days!

Thinking of you and here if you want to talk. I completely understand, it was the worst week of my life! X

Wouldnt expect any different at 5 weeks? I
wouldnt give up hope yet very early. Its giving out good hcg. Fingers crossed for u. But stay positive!

@J1290 thank you, the reason I’m panicking is because I had a heavy bleed right before I got my BFP and now I’m worried that was me losing the embryo and all I’ve been left with is the sac. But in my scan today the sonographer did say she could see the small area above the sac where the bleed was from so hopefully that’s the explanation for it (I had a subchrionic hematoma with my DS so could be the same thing)
