I'm 5 months pregnant why is it whenever I go to long without food when I do eat ill throw it up? Happens to me everytime today I had breakfast this morning but I was busy all day so forgot to eat till dinner I started to feel nausea and I knew I was going to throw my dinner up, I wasn't even finished eating when I was running to the toilet, after I got sick I finished My dinner and managed to hold the rest down it only happens when I go too long without eating is there any reason for it? I've googled it but can't find an explanation

Exact same thing happens to me, still at 34 weeks (although the actual being sick if I don’t eat stopped around week 27 - if that offers any reassurance). I’ve always assumed maybe blood sugars drop? Even if I have a bit of chocolate I feel better, have to catch it at the right time!

This is standard morning sickness

@Tinks123 I did eat a banana while dinner was cooking hoping that would be enough to stop me from being sick I managed to keep the banana down still felt sick but once I started eating My dinner I knew there was no hope I still ended up vomit its so annoying I can't wait to not have ro worry about this anymore once baby is here xx

This is totally normal.

It’s because of the effect of a drop in blood sugars and associated HCG

vomiting normally occurs next after nausea… it’s like footsteps. If you prevent the nausea you won’t actually be sick. As rinks has pointed out - you have to catch it at the right time. Too late and you will vomit. Eat little and often.
I say this as someone who’s been their and got the t shirt!

I was quite similar. Sadly also threw up when I ate. Just try eat little and often
