Hi!

Im currently 21 weeks pregnant with my first. I have sore skin around my vagina opening and labia and onto the sides where hair is too.

I think it is mostly my eczema but its not going away. It is itchy and sore/sensitive have cracks that are painful too. Painful to have sex a lot of the time, or put anything up there (including kegels!) makes me have a burn/sting sensation, its sore when wiping also.

I think my eczema is aggravated by me producing a lot of milky discharge so its cosntantly damp. It isnt thrush or BV as ive had tests done at hospital. I have been moisturising and keeping the area as dry as i can, and used steroid creams for a bit but stopped as wasnt helping.

Does anyone have any advice to help my skin heal? Doctors are not being very useful and im worrying about it hurting a lot during birth and then becoming worse after.

Thank you!

I seemed to have really acidic discharge during my pregnancy which caused sores on my labia, although yours sounds much worse. I used to slather a thick layer of aloe vera gel on there (with an unscented panty liner to avoid a mess). Might be worth a shot?

Thank you so much thats great advice. My boyfriend has just said he has noticed he can get a rash (he also has eczema) after sex with me since getting pregnant. Because of this ive worried i have an infection but acidic discharge is really interesting thank you ill get some gel tomorrow!

Assuming you've had STI and vagina swabs at hospital. It's probably hormonal OP. Are you sure it's not thrush through, may be worth getting a cannesten just incase ? I was swabbed at the hospital for thrush and all tests came back negative. But I was still suffering with the symptoms (itching, soreness and burning) I bought a cannesten as I was convinced it was thrush! And guess what? The symptoms wentGrin

Yes a pessary isn't going to harm you or baby/ so you might aswell give it a try. Get the pessary and the cream. Sometimes you have to give it a good 5 days to see any improvement though.
