Having to prompt baby to move at 33 weeks

I’ve had three episodes of reduced movement during my pregnancy, every time I’ve gone into hospital to be monitored, baby has been absolutely fine and they’ve said it could be due to the placement of my placenta. I’m just a bit concerned as I was delivered 6 weeks early via emergency section as my mum had reduced movement, and it turned out she had pre eclampsia.

I’m currently 33+2, last night and this morning baby hasn’t been moving as much as she has been over the last few weeks. I’ve managed to get some movement out of her by drinking cold orange juice, she went quiet again for an hour or so, so I had a fizzy drink, and she’s done a few kicks again.

She is moving but not as much as she has been typically over the past week or so, she’s been so wriggly it’s been making me jump and I’ve been able to see her through my clothes!

I’m just worried that I’m overreacting, as she is moving, but I feel I’m having to prompt her to move rather than her doing it spontaneously. Also every time I’ve gone to be assessed, as I said earlier, everything’s been fine… I am a worrier but I just wondered is it normal for her to move more some days than others?

I would still go an get checked. Better to waste time and be reassured than have regrets.

Go get checked out, your never overreacting when it comes to pregnancy. Midwives and doctors say with any change at all to go and get checked out.

Just keep going in. When I had this they gave me a scan every other week and monitoring every week until they induced me at 39 weeks.

Yes keep going in.

also have they given you any scans or do you have any growth scans? Could be worth checking the growth and the placental flow to the baby.

was your Papp-a normal at the combined test (>0.5 mom)? Lower gives risk of IUGR and others.

You have to go in every time you are worried, my experience was they were fine with this. After a certain number of times they will offer you an early induction I’d say (not 33w obviously unless there is evidence of something more worrying).

Thank you for all of your replies, I asked my midwife and she said I should go in to get checked so I’m going this afternoon.

I’ve had two growth scans, the first baby was just on the 50th centile and the last scan she had dropped to just below but I was told this was nothing to worry about. I’ve already asked for an elective C section, but I have a really weird feeling that she will make an early appearance!!

I’ll get checked out and hopefully all will be fine.
