Bleeding at 33 weeks

I am almost 33 weeks pregnant and woke up today to bright red bleeding with some scary looking sticky mucusy bits. No pain, no contractions nothing. Rushed off to OB eith sample of the toilet paper (sorry TMI) who checked and said that my cervix is closed, baby's heartbeat is good and that the reason for the bleeding could be the strong baby movements, cervical sensitivity, etc. She wasn't too concerned and said we may need steroidal coverage in case I feel contractions or any pain. I am very concerned though OB is not. She seems confident that I will pull on to 37 weeks. Please share similar stories and outcomes. Really need support here.

No similar story but trust your doctor. In my experience they are very cautious and would admit you if they had any concerns.
Just rest, monitor it and go back if you are still worried or movement slows.

I bled at 26 weeks but baby stayed put until 32 weeks. In my case the bleeding continued in and off for those 6 weeks but I was repeatedly monitored and baby was fine
if you have further bleeding or are still concerned I’d go back to be rechecked.

I had this between 32-33 weeks, spent 2/3 nights in hospital, as baby’s heart rate needed monitoring and I was having BH/contractions (cervix was closed)

it was fine, I ended up being induced at 40 weeks (heart rate issues again)

It’s scary when it happens though and good you got checked out 🌸🌸

Could be anything really but if all looks ok with baby and your cervix then it likely is.
I had a heavy bleed a few weeks earlier than this and was left unexplained as all was ok - and now here with a healthy but sleepless 6month old.
If you're super duper concerned/happens again you could always go to another hospital triage for second opinion I think.
Sending you best wishes! xx

Thanks to all for responses. Helps to know that one is not alone.

@WorriedMillie@Lastminutebride @@you did they give you any medicines to stem the bleeding? I have been given tranexamic acid tablets. They worked fast like literally 40 minutes.

@victoriay2k tagging you as well for the same question.

No none, sorry. Mine stopped the same evening in the end and as they couldn't see anything wrong I was just sent home then x

No they never even talked about anything to stop the bleeding. I held regularly for 6 weeks, sometimes very heavy bleeds. Was put on bed rest. My waters were also leaking though so not sure if that made a difference with treatment.
Maas given steroids at 26 weeks and again at about 31 weeks

Thanks for this post...just happened to me at 32-33 weeks and so scared to even move. Hopefully I will get a few more weeks before giving birth.
