12 week scan

Hello,

I was just wondering, is the NHS 12 week dating scan from conception?

So I think the scan has added two weeks where I wasn’t actually pregnant. or is the scan from when I ovulated/conceived?

I always thought they went from the first day of your last AF? I could be very wrong there though!

12 week scan measures the baby and adjusts your due date accordingly- both of my pregnancies were bought forward by 5 days as babies measured bigger

Your 'pregnancy' begins 2 weeks before conception actually takes place. At 2 weeks post conception you're considered to be 4 weeks pregnant, as it's based on the first day of your last period.

As above, by the time you're 4 weeks pregnant, your baby was only conceived 2 weeks ago. So at your 12 week scan, you will be 12 weeks pregnant, but it will be 10 weeks from conception if that makes sense
