Intense hunger

Hi all, I'm 6+2 and starting today I've been getting really intense hunger pains followed by nausea, this happened to me in my second pregnancy from around 6/7 weeks all the way to birth so I'm down on my knees praying it doesn't last that long this time because it's bloody awful. I'll eat a full meal and be starving 15 minutes later to the point I get really horrible hunger pains and then I feel sick when I try to eat, its a never ending cycle. Anyone else have this?

I made beef spaghetti Bolognese for the week. Has a small portion each morning around 10:30am, when I got hungry.

Yes. I had that. Ended up setting my alarm to get up in the night and eat a bowl of porridge. Can't remember who told me to do that- but crazy as it seems, it did ease the nausea a little.

Just go with little and often, I suppose.

This is me too! I’m not getting pains, but as soon as I feel hungry if I don’t eat I am massively nauseous. I suffered with HG in my last pregnancy and I remember this happening before the sickness started but I’m 8.5 weeks now and haven’t been sick yet, which I am massively grateful for, but also conscious about being the size of a house by 12 weeks 😂

I’ve bought some sugar free sweets that I have quite frequently which help and anything carb related (think green warburtons extra thick bread, toasted)!

@Babytwodue the thought of eating also makes me feel ill at the same time too. I've been eating cereal a lot today for a snack but to no avail, still hungry. Really hope it passes soon. Yeah I gained a lot of weight last pregnancy because of how much I had to eat, I really don't want that to happen again!

How are you getting on @Erinkelly28 has it subsided at all?
I’ve started splitting my lunch …half at 12:30, half at 3pm or I never make it to tea time without feeling like I am going to vomit!

I have this too - eating is the only way to not feel sick. I’ve just accepted that I need extra meals now. Porridge for 1st breakfast, toast for 2nd. Then I usually have a normal lunch plus a half size portion later! Snacking on nuts and stuff helps too.

Erinkelly28 · 01/02/2023 15:52

@Babytwodue no unfortunately not! I'm 9 weeks now and it's just the same. If this pregnancy is going to be anything like my last one then it won't stop until baby is here. I've accepted I need to eat more but I'm still stressed about weight gain.

@JJ456 yep constantly eating to try avoid feeling sick but then eating loads gives me a sore stomach anyway! There's no winning this.
