I have pcos. 37. Just had second chemical. I'm wondering does anyone take myo during pregnancy? I've been reading it reduces miscarriage chance but wondering has anyone been recommended or used this? Or were you advised to stop after ovulation? I know alot of women use it for pcos so hoping someone can answer. What brand do you take? There's so much confusion. Some are inositol some are myo some are myo +d chiro. Anyone have any advice

Hey,

Sorry about your chemicals I too hve pcos and have two early mc's before getting some advice from a private consultant. He upped my metformin to the highest dose (not sure if you are on this?) and I also changed from tablet inositol to powder which he said is more effective. I'll copy the link to the on I used.

He advised that as soon as I'm pregnant to come off the inositol but stay on metformin and also start with low dose aspirin. I was pregnant within 6 weeks of taking up his advice and I'm now 40 weeks pregnant.

Don't lose hope. It's hard to hear but it is positive that you've managed to get pregnant xxxx

Yes, I take Lambert’s powder. There are quite a few benefits, including reducing the chance of neural tube defects and also of us developing gestational diabetes.

Yes I take Ovaview which is myo-insitol, folate and Chromium. I'm 20 weeks. I also am on metaformin 1500mg daily.

I had a previous MMC so for this pregnancy I carried on with all the above (I had stopped metaformin at my consultants recommendation last time...).

I found there is not solid science to support continuing or stopping myo-insitol but there have been studies that say it can reduce miscarriage, so I continued taking it at my own risk really.

I read it starts with the egg after my miscarriage, particularly the PCOS section, which talks about the different types of insitol as well - I found that helped navigate it all a bit!

Sorry for your loss and wishing you the best of luck x

Also, I took low dose aspirin from 1 dpo the month I got pregnant. May be coincidence but also something else to consider.

I'm taking my-inositol as a blend with chromium and folate. I'm at risk of gestational diabetes based on previous large birth weights so that's really part of my basis to continue it during pregnancy. I also have raised prolactin and testosterone, which inositol can help lower. It would have been from after reading it starts with the egg that I added it. My cycles had already regulated quite well prior to starting taking it, but I think it has helped me lose weight alongside a low carb diet and combating the underlying endocrine issues as it increases insulin sensitivity and reduces ovarian exposure to insulin. It also helps decrease cardiovascular risk.

Hi, this is what I have been taking for the past year and I have just found out that I am 5weeks pregnant. I don't know whether to stop taking it due to the chromium or whether I should continue until told otherwise?

I stopped taking it in the first trimester as the evidence was clear, BUT I’ve now got gestational diabetes and I wish I’d carried on.

I started taking it again once I got diagnosed with the diabetes - what reassured me is that it’s actually an ingredient in pregnacare max, so I emailed them and they sent me a number of studies which support use throughout pregnancy.

I'm another kosmic kris lol 😆
I'm 37 too and take myo for pcos
I'm 7 weeks and I'm still taking myo.
Don't take it with the d chiro. New studies advise against taking d chiro. You need a higher ratio of myo. Having too much d chiro in the body can actually decrease egg quality and make hormones worse. You body natures converts it.
I take powder myo. Viridian and zita west. I'm taking 3000mg daily . I'll likely continue this throughout my pregnancy. Fingers crossed all going well.

Oh no that's not nice at all 😧 I can't see chromium as an ingredient in pregnacare max. I got pregnant with taking my ova and maca root capsules- I am so reluctant to come off them just incase it triggers a miscarriage. But I also don't want to harm my baby with added vitamins I shouldn't be having

MO22 · 27/11/2023 22:11

Hiya, just to update, I took it all the way through and my baby is almost 7 months now! I think I remember the chromium in myova was v minimal.

Obviously do so at your own risk, as my PP I did my own research and went for it.

Congratulations on your pregnancy, wishing you all the best. X
