Could you please recommend me a baby carrier?

Hi all,

I’m looking for baby carrier recommendations.

I’d ideally like something which is suitable from newborn and will see me through for at least 18 months-2 years. It would be great to have something which can be worn both day to day around the house as well as out and about. Good back support is a must!

Thank you xx

I have a Tula half and half. It's a lovely baby carrier and very comfortable. Only thing I would mention is a lot baby carriers, such as the Tula I have, start from newborn but have a minimum weight of 7lb. My tiny third baby wasnt 7lb until she was over two months old so I used a stretchy wrap with her. Absolutely love a stretchy wrap and still use it sometimes now with her at a year old

Another vote for the ergo baby. I have an original. It’s on to its second child now. Used for front carries when they were little. Still used a lot for my 2 year old (on my back). And in an emergency used it to back carry my huge nearly 5 year old! Even that was fine for my back. Not so much my knees though!

I'll add to the votes for the Ergobaby Omni 360.

I would recommend a stretchy wrap type sling for newborn. We had a more structured carrier but it just felt too big for a newborn. I ended up getting a caboo which I used up to about 6 months.

Another vote for the babybjorn mini, SO easy to put on and get baby in (I've just upgraded to a babybjorn 'one', now that DD is a bit bigger). I tried a couple of fabric wraps with DD when she was a newborn and felt quite anxious about them coming undone or not being supportive enough, but the mini was great as it's a bit more structured. The 'one' is good too, but would have been a bit bulky when she was tiny. Friends with ergobaby ones always seem to struggle with getting them on and off, so if you can try before you buy, do!

100 percent the mamaruga zensling - it's such a perfect mix of soft stretchy material for those tiny newborn days but with a structured carrier design for more back support. I loved my stretchy wrap for baby and tried so so many slings and carriers Tula, Ergobaby, baby Bjorn, connecta and more but nothing came close to the zensling it's fab! So much so I can't bare to give it away and DS is a 99th centile 2 year old lol

I love my Beco carrier, it's sturdy, comfy to wear and baby's always been comfortable in it.

We love the ergobaby 360. Comfy and lasted well, will use it again for my second due soon.
