Does anyone know if you should have an early pregnancy scan if you suffer from endometriosis to make sure everything is going ok. I’m currently 6 weeks pregnant. Any advice is much appreciated

You'll hear both sides of opinions but I had an early scan due to having an IVF pregnancy. There's a slightly increased chance of ectopic so for my own peace of mind I had a scan at 6 weeks to make sure gestation was in utero. Bonus for me was seeing a little bean and heart beat, but 6 weeks isn't always guaranteed a heartbeat. Such a personal decision, for me I'm glad I did as it meant not worrying for longer :)

Do you mean an NHS scan, or are you questioning whether to get a private scan?

Thanks for your responses.
Wondering if I should get a private scan as I know NHS may be reluctant until 12 weeks. I’m just unsure wether having endometriosis puts me at a high risk

@Mayb1 I am also IVF so had an early scan was amazing to see in the right place and really there doing its own thing. Have booked an additional private scan for 9 weeks to see how progressing and will then be having NIPT Harmony at 11 weeks. Then once in NHS will probably check in monthly but that is for my own peace of mind and I want to see them grow. First pregnancy and I never thought it would happen 😊
