Bleeding 6/7 weeks pregnant

Hi

Looking for some advice/hand hold. Discovered I was pregnant just before Christmas after TTC for 4ish months. I think I'm late week 6 early week 7. I had some very light spotting last night that stopped after couple hours. Woke up this morning to couple spots in my underwear and when i wipe there's a decent amount of fresh red blood on paper. Has been steady all day and now fearing the worst 😔 there hasn't been any blood on panty liner until this afternoon so have switched to pad. After an hour there's a tiny amount of blood on it but still there when I wipe. Have booked a private scan for Monday afternoon and will speak to GP then too.

Anyone had similar happen to them? How quickly would bleeding progress if I'm having a miscarriage?

The waiting and not knowing is the worst!

Hi, I bled from 9pdo on and off for weeks! Then i bled again a few times months in! I also had alot of pain about 6 weeks in and was convinced it was MC.
I am now 37 weeks and all OK! They never found the cause and said some women just bleed!
I rang GP at 6 weeks and they arranged for a scan at the early pregnancy unit. I had another at 13 weeks after a bleed. They are very reassuring! Xxx

Be careful with private scan as i believe they are not actually able to give any medical opinion so you may leave more concerned than you arrived! My gp got me a scan within 2 or 3 days xx

Sorry to hear you are going through this. Have you called your maternity unit as well?

I had a miscarriage a while back and started as light bleeding which was dark brown. It was quite sporadic at first, not consistent bleeding and started at 13.00 and got heavier into the evening (at which point there was no question I was miscarriaging).

Are your boobs still tender? Do you feel pregnant? My boobs straight away felt "normal" again, I just didn't feel the same.
We called the midwife and she asked me this question at the time too.

I'm not sure if there's really any sure way to know, other than waiting to see what will happen. Hope you have people with you? The waiting is horrendous, so sorry 😢

@Fearnecuptea thanks for sharing. I rang 111 this morning and they tried to get me a scan bit couldn't get through. I'm not in much pain and feel well so they recommended waiting to speak to GP but go to a&e if symptoms get much worse. I'm having low belly pain like mild period pain but otherwise no change at the moment. Think my boobs are still a bit tender but they weren't massively sensitive to start with... my mind keeps playing tricks! Think I need an early night and try to relax...

I’ve had similar to this when I miscarried a few months ago, I had strong cramps too along with the bleeding, I never bled particularly heavily tbh, but because of the pain along with the bleeding GP referred me to get a scan within about an hour, they were checking for ectopic pregnancy, I was told then I was miscarrying and went back a week later and the miscarriage was confirmed complete

then on the other had I had the same thing happen when I was 6w 3d with my current pregnancy so i rang 111, I got sent straight to hospital again for blood tests etc, once they were done they sent me up to gynae and I had a scan again to check for ectopic pregnancy as this is what a&e thought was going on, I honestly hand on heart believed I was miscarrying again as it was exactly the same pains and a similar level of bleeding, had my scan and to my amazement everything was absolutely fine, they said that some woman do bleed and there’s no real cause so they’re not sure why, and the same with random pains, just everything growing and stretching ready for baby, I’m currently 11w6d 🙏🏽

sending you lots of love♥️

@radlovesqotsa hi I am in exactly the same situation I’m 6+6 and yesterday started with really painful period pains, shivers and then really hot. Couldn’t relieve the pain in any position then after a couple of hours started with red blood when I wiped. Rang 24hr midwife and I went to EPU, they did an internal examination and said my cervix was still closed so that was good. Had to go back for a scan today that was inconclusive so had some blood tests and another lot on Monday. I’m in limbo but keep 🙏🙏 good luck I hope you get a good outcome xx

So sorry you are going through this. I had the same a few months back. I called the hospital direct where they look into early problems in pregnancy ( I can’t remember the department). My husband call around all the hospitals and kept bugging them until they said that we could come in for a scan. Pretty sure they don’t operate on Sundays though.

Im so so sorry you are going through this and it’s the worst feeling. If you have period pain then it’s likely to be a MC. You will get through this and will be ok, I promise x

Sort you are going through this op.
Unfortunately it is the waiting that’s difficult.
Its also very individual. I still had very strong symptoms of pregnancy, sore tingling boobs, nausea, exhaustion despite actively miscarrying.
Other miscarriages all symptoms stopped suddenly, so there is no hard and fast.

My GP wasnt in the least bit interested because there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. I phoned and told them for my records to be referred to the appropriate depts. Face to face appointment was not necessary.
Midwives and maternity unit not in the least bit interested, again, there is absolutely nothing that they can do about any of it.

Early scan told me there was no heartbeat therefore no hope therefore I could plan and consider my options.

It’s an awful limbo where people can’t help, can’t prevent and can’t treat the condition.
Ypu do survive it though, nature takes its natural course and you have no choice but to go along with it.
All the best OP. There’s plenty of us here to hold your hand and offer support along the path. X

Look up your local Early Pregnancy unit and see how you can get triaged with them. Not all require you to go via A&E.

Thanks all for your support! Its been so helpful. Hope you get good news soon @CMG92 xx
