Sharp pain in uterus

I’m 5 weeks pregnant and have these short lived cramps which feel like they’re right in my uterus in the centre. The thing is they feel quite sharp like stabbing pains or muscle spasms? Not dull or achey, more like 1-2 seconds of sharp pain.

Ive had no bleeding and otherwise feel ok apart from feeling tired and hormonal and sore swollen breasts. No nausea which is worrying me a bit.

Are these sharp cramps a normal part of early pregnancy?

I’ve had these on and off since about 6 weeks - I mentioned them to my midwife at my booking appt and she suggested it’s probably stretching/growing pain. I’m now 14 weeks and still have strange cramps intermittently which again, I assume is due to growing or round ligament pain. Is this your first pregnancy? For me this will be dc4 so my muscles are already more loose and likely to stretch!
if there isn’t bleeding accompanying cramps and they’re not really painful I wouldn’t worry too much - you can always contact your local midwifery team to speak to someone if you’re worried! Best of luck!

Thanks for the reassurance! This is my first pregnancy. I don’t have a MW yet but spoke to a nurse who wasn’t worried. Think I was shocked as it feels so sharp - not like the dull pain I get with period

I've definitely had this, and still do to an extent at 33w. I wouldn't worry too much. It'll be baby setting in and uterus stretching. Congrats xx
