I can see a faint second line. How late is your period?

My period is supposed to start tomorrow but thought be cheeky and check today.

I have slight bleeding and hoping for it to be an implantation bleed rather than spotting re period which is usually heavier for me.

@dammiejodger I actually had to google "evap". That'd be very sad.

Looks positive to me. If it’s an evap then the line isn’t usually as thick as the control line. It might be so light because it’s so early. Try First Response- they’re the best tests.

@TheVanguardSix I only bought the cheapest possible as I thought, maybe I get really lucky but put it in the draw, started cleaning and only remembered an hour later. Due to Christmas, we DTD after I ovulated but there is always hope. If AF isn't coming with full force tomorrow, I'll get a more expensive test.

I'd say that if your period is due tomorrow and you're bleeding today then that's your period.

Just saying that gently as I know it's disappointing! Hope it is a line though of course!

@gemloving did the line come up within the time limit? If you looked at it later on it could be an evap. I have found the boots early ones as good as a frer. Most standard tests wouldn’t always show an obvious line before 14dpo and even then would be a fainter line that an early detection test

@ChocChipOwl I have two children and had implantation bleeding with both, so not necessarily but I appreciate you wanting to soften the blow if not. It's ok if not, it would just be really exciting and I'd love a September baby. It's my 3rd cycle only.

@allgoodthings84 I tested and forgot about it, then saw it about an hour later. If AF doesn't come tomorrow, then I'll buy a digital test as it'll be the day my period is due.

@gemloving ahhh no one can say then really unfortunately as these tests do get an evap after time quite a lot. It could go either way. I hope it’s the result you want though

@GoT1904 I haven't because I haven't had a chance to get a test but AF is late and it's never late. Tiny bit of spotting but I had that with both and usually spot more pre period, at the same time I don't want to get my hopes up too much as I know I'd be very sad otherwise if AF was to arrive within the next couple of days.

A few days later but did get my positive test. It's good that I do know my body, I thought I did.

Do you know how many DPO you are today?

@monsteramunch I believe I ovulated late on 26/27/28 so going by the middle 27/12 which makes me 13DPO, I didn't think about it like this at first but it now makes sense that despite having missed my period, my body didn't have enough time to produce Hcg to show up as positive. Very happy. Husband is slightly worried it'll be too much work x

Ah interesting. I'm hoping something similar is happening for me and that I've ovulated later than I thought so a BFN could still end up being a BFP this month.

@monsteramunch I can usually tell when my discharge is like egg whites (sorry if TMI), that's when I'm ovulating and I knew when it happened but though we missed the window when we DTD as it was Christmas and the days after you're not necessarily up for sex 😅
