Maternity leave before baby arrives - how to spend it

I will have 2 days a week whilst my son is in nursery for 2-3 weeks before baby arrives. I want to relax and enjoy them but also don't want to waste the days. What did/would you do? I've got a pregnancy massage to go to and debating whether to do any other beauty treatments. Also I'm sure there will be lots of Netflix Grin

I sorted all life admin bits- opticians/dentist etc. Batch cooked food and made sure freezer was full. Bought any presents/cards for next month or so. And a lot of enjoying being alone 😂

Hair cut! Forgot that one

Sleep or binge watch TV 🤣

I spent my time cooking and cleaning and regret it so much!

Wish I'd stayed in bed watching telly, miss that so much 🤣

SunshineClouds1 · 05/01/2023 22:00

I slept, ate and watched TV 😂 it was heaven

As someone who didn't even get to maternity leave due to baby coming early, sleep, rest and binge watch tv. Wish I'd had even a few days of it 🤣

Go to the cinema alone with snacks!

Currently 39+5 and this is my pre baby mat leave been off since Xmas eve but so busy with stuff then this feels like the first week of it and I planned to get so much done but I'm so big uncomfortable and having false Labour most nights that I've accepted laying on the sofa watching Netflix is the kindest thing! With the odd walk to see if it brings baby on. Listen to your body and make minimal plans x

Doing very little and relaxing will not be a waste!

Cinema alone is a great idea if there's anything you want to see.

Start several box sets so you're familiar with the characters and plots when the baby comes - I was always too tired to face into something new.

Luana1 · 06/01/2023 09:33

If you have everything sorted for the baby's arrival, I would just hibernate in bed with the ever growing pile of books I've been meaning to read :)

Batch cook, take nice long baths and rest!

I had three weeks off before my due date then DD was a further two weeks after that. I got very bored by the end and went to a shopping centre one week over due much to everyone's horror.

Thought maybe she'd arrive in John lewis and I'd get some free shopping 😂
