38 weeks and baby’s movements have me in tears

I can’t remember my first hurting me this much, but I don’t think he was ever fully engaged and always faced the wrong way until labour whereas this baby is in the right position and VERY low.

I have just been yelping as though I’m in labour on all fours because of some of his movements towards my back/bum. Is this normal for this stage? I really could cry sometimes. My partner is worried I’m in labour but my stomach isn’t tightening, it’s definitely just his movements.

I definitely think they can hurt at this stage

I'm 34 weeks with DC2 and she's been head down almost the whole time but some of her back and bum movements near my rib cage and her rolling into my stomach hurt like hell!

You're nearly there, not long to go as much as it feels like there is! Sending strength x

If they are that painful, I would heavily be considering induction. You are 38 weeks now so baby is fully grown. Have you spoken to your midwife about this yet ?

Thanks for the replies!

@Spacebears I am actually booked in for an elective c section on the 16th so it’s not too long to wait! But man, I don’t remember my sons movements being this painful! I spoke to my midwife today actually about a few things because I am also absolutely EXHAUSTED!!! And she has reassured me that it’s all normal. I have an almost 4 year old to chase after this time and have to walk to fetch him from nursery every day and then walk back again, so it’s no surprise I’m knackered really 🥴

@febbabies2023 Thank you ❤️

Not too long to go! Hang in there. I'm 30 weeks and movements are starting to become painful. I do remember when I was pregnant with my daughter, a kick in the ribs would make me wince !

I had absolutely no stomach tightening at all. Felt it all only in my back and bum. Call your maternity unit! My labour was super quick too. Give birth on all 4s if you can, bring on my back was excruciating

goid luck

How are you doing op?

L0ts · 13/01/2023 22:57

@febbabies2023 Sorry for the late reply! I’m still pregnant so absolutely was not in labour when I wrote this, still in a lot of pain when he’s very active though and the lightning crotch is off the charts! Two more days to make it through until my c section on Monday!! I’m anxious but feeling ready now!

@L0ts oh bless you! Monday is so so close though, and I hope it all goes well for you! Keep us updated and use these two days to rest as much as you can and enjoy your other little one! Sending lots of positive vibes for your section 🤍
