I'm currently 36+5 and just attempted a long overdue shave.

I've tried to google what I "found" but all that comes up is perineal swelling at this stage of pregnancy and it's normal etc what I felt was more of a bulge than swelling. Like it feels as if the baby's head is right there waiting to come out 😂 I know that's not the case but that's what it feels like.

Is this normal?! Did anyone else have this? Did it result in an earlier labour? I'm booked for a planned section at 38+7 but happy to attempt a VBAC if he decides to arrive earlier so the sooner the better!

Hey,
Oh yes at this stage I felt like my babys head was a massive coconut about to literally fall out (4 days induced and a c section later she didn't fall out obviously haha 🤣)
It's so odd in the late stages as you do feel an immense pressure down there and everything does become more uhhhh bulgey. It's prob just your babies head getting into position for birth tho.
Good luck 🤗

Eugghh, yes I know the feeling, I’m at 33 weeks and my baby is head down 3/5ths engaged already. Sometime when I sit on the toilet I can feel a strange bulge, it’s quite shocking really. But I think it must just be the baby’s head pushing down.
