I ovulated on day 13/14 and tested on positive on day 27 so roughly 13DPO I’d say.

The line was strong though so I think I’d have tested positive a day or two earlier too.

Did you test for ovulation this month?

RambamThankyouMam · 03/01/2023 10:10

With DD I didn't test until my period was one day late, so 15DPO.

With DS, I got a faint positive at 10DPO.

Doodledeedum · 03/01/2023 10:25

Usually 9/10 DPO
Cervix high and lots of milky discharge prior

user000 · 03/01/2023 11:38

Thanks everyone
Well my cervix is high but hard
I did do opk and think I messed it up
First peak 23 dec, then I got another with a separate test on 24 dec
And dtd morning 25 dec
So I'm thinking I've missed the window?!
48 hours after the first peak??
We are shift workers so
It's really hard to organise !

So I think I'm around 11 dpo today.
Cervix is hard though
But high

Ovulation is usually 12-36 hours after first peak/positive test and then after ovulation happens there’s 12-24 hours for the sperm to get to the egg so there’s a chance you got dtd in time but it all depends how quickly your body ovulates after the peak. Dtd 4 days before the peak is good if you can fit it in as then sperm is there ready and waiting already

xogossipgirlxo · 03/01/2023 13:04

I've done mine after period was late by week. I had period symptoms, just like you. I lived in denial, even took two ibuprofens and put hot water bottle on my lower belly, because I was 100% sure it's period. Heavy breasts, cramps etc. My husband made me do the test and he was right.

BeichiogrwyddEnfys · 03/01/2023 15:30

Exactly what @allgoodthings84 said.
There's a chance but it depends when you actually ovulated. The fact it was the morning of 25th is good - looks to be within 48 hours of first peak.

We tried to DTD a few days in a row to cover bases and it worked for us - I think we did day 11,12 and 13 of cycle - ovulation for me looked to be day 14 but could have occurred on day 13. I was LH negative at 7am on Day 12, but it was positive when I retested in the afternoon and also the following morning. I find testing twice a day around about the time I am expecting my surge works for me, but my cycle is quite regular.

user000 · 03/01/2023 16:31

Hmm ok thanks
I got the blank circle on the day after we dtd.... so maybe it was over Blush
Getting inpatient!!

Both time 8-9dpo. I have a 26 day cycle and ovulate around day 11 or 12. So BFP on CD21 ish.

user000 · 03/01/2023 16:46

Wow that's really early!!! Lucky you!!!

Cuppasoupmonster · 03/01/2023 16:47

Yep but the high HCG means I get horrible sickness 😔

Cossete · 03/01/2023 16:51

I got my FRER at 8DPO, then digital at 9DPO. Now I am 12DPO and the line is getting stronger each day 😃

user000 · 03/01/2023 19:56

Congratulations @Cossete !!!
Wow 8 dpo!
Really happy for you Biscuit

BeichiogrwyddEnfys · 03/01/2023 21:42

@user000 I always assumed you got a negative on your LH before you ovulate, so don’t let that bit worry you! I definitely think the surge comes and goes before ovulation. (Someone correct me if I’m wrong?)

allgoodthings84 · 03/01/2023 22:00

Ovulation tends to happen 12-36 hours after the first positive. Some women have a drop in LH straight after and some women test positive for a few days.

FirstTimeTryer93 · 03/01/2023 22:30

I got my very faint BFP at 9dpo, confirmed with a digital at 10dpo. Currently 29 weeks pregnant with our baby girl 🥰 baby dust for you OP x

user000 · 04/01/2023 10:18

wow congratulations @FirstTimeTryer93 !!!
Thanks for the babysdust

@allgoodthings84 if I got my peak OPK morning of 23, then would it be possible that I would ovulate eg morning of 24 (24 hours later?)
and then the egg survives 24 hours and we dtd in time?

or is that too unrealistic?

If I got a peak with a different test on the morning of 24, does that mean I hadn't ovulated yet? (ie the test detected the LH surge still there on 24 morning?)

Im so confused by this question!

i havent yet tested today... we dtd 11 days ago so ovulation could have been 11-13 days ago. not sure whether to test again!

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 10:37

@user000 even if positive still the next day it’s from the first positive but you’re still within a chance just depends how quickly your body ovulates. The fact you dtd in the morning gives you a much better chance

user000 · 04/01/2023 12:23

ok - thanks @allgoodthings84
I wasn't sure if it meant I hadn't yet ovulated by the second day, because I was still "peak" on a separate test on the second day -but I'm probably trying to imagine things!!!!
thank you!

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 13:06

@user000 I don’t think that’s the case from what I’ve read as opk’s don’t actually confirm ovulation it just shows the rise in LH. Some people get positive opk’s but don’t ovulate (not common though). The rise of LH is what signals the ovaries to release an egg (if your body ovulates) so when it’s positive the signal is there for release. You may not ever catch your true “peak” either as it can happen in between taking the opk’s so could be earlier or later than you have on record.

user000 · 04/01/2023 14:26

I understand ok thank you

Both times it was 13dpo, both successful pregnancies! Also I had zero symptoms at all util mild nausea about 10 weeks pregnant second time round.

BabyB2022 · 04/01/2023 15:31

My first got a faint positive at around 10dpo, this time I didn't get a faint positive until around 12/13 dpo. I had a stark negative at 11dpo so was fairly certain I was out but wasn't.

user000 · 04/01/2023 19:37

Hmm
Well this mornings urine was tested tonight with Superdrug early detection and it was negative Confused

OP posts:
allgoodthings84 · 04/01/2023 20:07

@user000 Is there a certain time frame the urine should be used in? I have no idea but sure I’ve read before should be within a few hours unless refrigerated.
