Hi! I was looking for advice really I’ve had my copper coil for 6 years never had any issues and still continue to have periods, last period was 6th December. Over the last few days I think I have been spotting I have never experienced this before and just have light pink blood mainly when wiping but have had to use a pantyliner also. I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if this could be implantation bleeding? Might be just panicky as I under stand coils are really effective. Thanks I’m advance!

Hi Jade, something similar is actually happening to me at the moment. I have a copper coil and I've missed my period and I have really weird spotting whenever I go to the bathroom. I wonder how it turned out with you in the end. I'm really not wanting to be pregnant right now x

I would check in with whoever fitted the coil and take a pregnancy test. Can you feel the strings?

As effective as they are, I got pregnant with the copper coil fitted. It comes with a greater risk of ectopic pregnancy which can be dangerous to you and the foetus.

Hi just wondering about the update from this? I’m having the exact same issue but had my coil checked last week for them to say it’s still all in place. Can feel my strings just about so wondering if it’s just a side effect as I’ve only had the copper coil for 6 weeks!

Hey I'd also like an update on this, I'm in a very similar boat! Had copper coil for 6 years also. Regular periods, bit of spotting around ovulation...then bang, mid August, 3 day bleed....period arrived as normal end of August and I've pretty much spotted/light bled until today where it's eased off and just getting a bit of brown stained discharged. Waiting for a pelvic scan...can feel strings...not pregnant because dates don't add up...pulling my hair out. X

Hello! :) I’m looking for advice really I’m 27 my partner is 34(we’ve been together 7 years) and he already has 2 girls from a previous relationship who we have 3 days a week, basically we have discussed having a child together and he doesn’t want to wait much longer before having another etc. I was just wondering is there ever a right time to have children 😂 as taking the leap is a scary thought! I worry about our living arrangements etc as we are in a 1 bedroom flat due to no housing in my area and rental prices are insane! But should I let this stop me? I have a copper coil in place so need to get this removed so I have to plan everything, I think if it wasn’t going to be planned and it was a suprise it would be so much easier! But yeah Andy advise would be great! Thank you alllll x

Nevér a right time
But there's always a wrong time and living in a 1 bed flat with 2 children already and adding a newborn baby to that is probably the wrong time.
