When my wife found out that she had a high CD56 value (high number of uterine natural killer cells) I thought that our dream was basically dead. All the research indicated that it was very difficult for a pregnancy to take hold under these circumstances. But through online forums like one we found out about Intralipid therapy.
We read that not all clinics would offer the treatment, that basically while there was evidence that it worked to suppress the natural killer cells long enough for the pregnancy to take hold there was no medicinal reason why something akin to olive oil could be so useful. I have to say that my wife thinks the treatment were not the only success factor, and that other things may have also played a role together with the treatments. But for me there is no doubt: after years of trying this was the breakthrough.
We only heard of it because we read a post like this, one that in our darkest hours gave us a little hope and a way forward. I hope we can give someone this hope as well.
