Growth chart- dip??!

Hello,

Does it look like baby’s growth has dipped when measured with the tape measure a couple of days ago? The midwife couldn’t decide which hasn’t reassured me.

Apparently dots should follow the second line from the bottom..

Would you be concerned?

Thanks!

Possibly but I really wouldn't worry. It is a very vague guide from what I gather. I never managed to measure beyond 30cm when I was pregnant. I did have several growth scans to check, but was a perfectly healthy baby, just on the small side, with fluid levels also on the low side of normal.

@Lockedinforwinter Thank you. A private scan also revealed a higher amount of fluid which I’m petrified about. 😫 so these two things combined have me very anxious.

Honestly. Don't worry, there are countless threads you can route through which will show you how they get it wrong very often.
I was induced, told my DS was going to be a big baby (10lbs) he came out 6lbs 9oz,
My friend was told the opposite that her baby was too small (around 5lbs at 39 weeks), they induced her and he had a 9lbs 9oz baby 🤣 honestly, don't worry OP xxx

Also, it looks as though you're on the 50th centile which is perfect...
I always measured 91st and above, like I said. He was teeeny

@justcouldntthinkofausername thank you so much for the reassurance. I think the MW was more potentially concerned (although she couldn’t decide) that the growth had slowed down, so it was over the 50th and now it’s possibly just under.. would you be worried? Thank you! 🙏🏽

I agree. Looks like nothing to be concerned about. If your midwife had any doubt or concerns she would have requested a growth scan surely?

@katpw i know it's hard not to but I wouldn't worry xxx
Enjoy your pregnancy ❤️

Honestly I went through so many reduced growth scans, every 2 weeks because the midwife measured reduced growth. I'd go to the scan and be told I was just under where they would refer you to a consultant for a BIG baby...
Told baby would be 9lb 4oz at 40 weeks
I had a 6lb13oz baby.. . Last growth scan 3 weeks before birth said 6lb 15oz..
From 28 weeks I came out of every midwife app crying. I didn't need to.
It is worrying but don't let it take over
