Strong cramps and pooping mucus

Hi,

I recently found out I'm pregnant and started having these super painful cramps that feel like period pains but much worse (front and back). I initially thought something was wrong with the pregnancy but later realised this is a digestive thing.

These cramps come on randomly and when they do the gradually get stronger. Lasting between 10 and 40 minutes. I can sort of feel like my rectum is spasming so I go to the toilet and I pass a small amount of mucus. Sometimes it's white, yellow or brown.

Other times I pass a very very small poop and the mucus. Other times it's just wet farts (gas and mucus)

Then the cramping gradually fades and goes away.

They checked my stool and found no bacteria or anything. I've been told to just let it pass...

It's been happening for about a week and a half. What on earth is happening to me?

@TeeEmm hi Congratulations on your pregnancy, I have been having quite painful period cramps all day for the last 2days with lots of brown discharge when I wipe. A few ladies have said it’s totally normal. The pain seems to go away when I lay flat but sitting is quite painful x

I had cramps during my pregnancy. Some days ok, some days bad. I'd go days where even getting out of bed or coughing was painful and i'd have to breathe it out 😫

@Summer2424 were they linked to your bowel? Were you pooping mucus too? How long did it last?

Hi @TeeEmm i did have bouts of mucas but mine wasn't linked to my bowel. I had cramps throughout my pregnancy, some days ok and some days bad, i put it down to my womb growing. Even with all the cramps i had a healthy pregnancy.
