ICSI FET Pregnancy - 7 weeks but measuring 5

Hi,

This is my first post and I'm looking for some realistic outcomes from an ICSI FET positive pregnancy.

My partner has CF so we had to go down the ICSI route for a baby. At egg retrieval I over stimulated and had to freeze all. Luckily we have a good number of embryos in storage.

We had our first embryo transfered at the end of November with a BFP on day 9, 10, 11 and OTD.

I've had extreme tiredness, nausea on and off, sore boobs and aversion to chicken.

I had my first scan yesterday at 7 weeks only to be told the yolk sac is measuring 5+2. I'm on cylogest pessaries x 3 a day spaced out and prognova x 3 a day taken in 1 go.

I'm not sure if I'm kidding myself and I'm going to/going through a MC or if there's a possibility that the embryo will still grow.

Back for scan 2 on Thursday.

Any advice, similar experiences, realistic outcomes are welcome.

TIA x

Hi @Laurenhuh.
Firstly, congratulations on retrieving a good number of frozen embryos and gaining a BFP - this in itself is a really good achievement if it's your first cycle I presume? Do you know if there was a fetal pole present in your scan? I'm no medic but as a comparison I had my first scan on Thursday at 7w1d where there was a gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole with a heartbeat. What did your sonographer say about outlook? I think it's difficult to say, there are cases like yours where it's turned around and the next scan showed what they want to see, at the same time I personally would try to manage expectations hun ❤️. Sorry you're going through this uncertainty, mine is 3rd time lucky as the first two didn't make it past Week 6/7 😭.

There's actually a separate group called "IVF cycle November 2022" with a bunch of us lovely ladies sharing our IVF journeys. There are two of us who made it to Week6/7 scan this week, my first scan was positive whilst the other lady is in a similar situation to you. I do recommend you joining our group if talking with others is something that will benefit you? Sending love xx

Thank you! 💜
Yeah, it's my first cycle.

Tbh I have no idea. The deputy nurse and assistant nurse never spoke through the scan, finally told me they couldn't see they should see, then called the Dr who found the embryo. He never said if there was a sac, yolk, fetal pole or anything. They didnt even turn the screen fully for me or my husband to see, but we could see the sac and the yolk inside. Just said it was measuring 5+2 and it looks to be an unviable pregnancy, but to keep taking the meds and come back in a week.

I'm pretty much in limbo with no reasonable answers as to what is/was there but resigned myself to this not working.

I keep waiting for the cramps and bleeding but there is none.

Thank you so much for replying and for letting me know about the group. Talking definitely helps. I've been going through this alone, I'd really appreciate the conversation 💜

I've seen you've joined our other thread 😊.
It's so hard, and the uncertainty feels too much sometimes. Will reply properly in the other thread, you'll get lots of support and you'll see you're definitely not alone ❤️. X
