I am a FTM and 24 weeks pregnant and my breasts have started leaking! Is this normal?

Yes!

babyyodaxmas · 31/12/2022 06:56

Yes normal for me from about 15 weeks.

Thank you! I couldn't believe it when I woke up and my pj top had 2 wet patches! Will they leak now until birth?

Possibly yes. If you want to breastfeed it's a good sign on your milk coming in well.
It's all connected. Just saying as I had zero knowledge.

Get some pads you'll be ok, completely normal x

SleekMamma · 31/12/2022 13:11

Yes you can get disposable or washable breast pads. They fit inside your bra.
And a soft sleep top for nighttime, to put them in. Cuts down on the washing.

Thank you so much everyone 😊

Also a FTM at 22wks, not experienced this yet. For those with experience, would this be colostrum, and if it's not harvested as soon as it comes through have we missed the chance?

SleekMamma · 01/01/2023 14:12

You don't need to collect it. You aren't harming future bf by not. Bf is all supply and demand.

Placenta coming away kicks off proper milk and colustrum. Leaking pre baby u wont miss anything its all just hormones increasing
