CSection waxing

Hi, I have a planned CSection coming up shortly. I had an emergency CSection last time where I was shaved last minute. Wondering this time if I should get waxed in advance? Can't see past my belly currently so everything is a bit wild down there:-(
I'm sure they don't mind shaving for an emergency but would I be expected to be neat & tidy seeing as i know what's coming???

I had a bikini wax prior to my c section, not sure why really but wanted to be neat! It’s up to you.

No of course you aren’t expected to be neat and tidy.

Have a wax if you want to but if you don’t normally I wouldn’t start 8-9 months pregnant

I had one at 8 months pregnant and it was so much more painful than usual. Then baby was overdue so most of it had grown back anyway so bit pointless in the end! Do it for your comfort only op the drs won’t give a monkeys.

I have a friend who went in for an emergency section and they got out the hair clippers for her 🤣🤣

Yeah ever since hearing that even though I wanted to try natural I couldn't wax but I shaved and trimmed down there 😂

I was instructed by the hospital not to shave or wax in advance! Not sure if that's standard or just the hospitals I had mine in (I've had two planned, in different hospitals) but they definitely both specified at my booking in that they didn't want anything done. I think there might have been some reasoning about waxing plus the incision increasing the risk of ingrown hairs and infection? Equally it might have just been not wanting heavily pregnant women to bother...

I've had 2 CS's, the first was emergency, so much so, there was zero shaving! For the second planned CS, I was told I could shave / wax beforehand or they would shave me pre op. One of my funniest memories is evening before DH and I being so nervous and him trying to shave me. 😅 It took about an hour we were giggling so much.
So I would say it doesn't matter either way, but if I was doing it all again, I would be 'de-haired' pre op. Also from experience when not shaved, it's easier to keep the scar clean when hairless.

I had a wax before planned section. I wouldnt have liked being shaved as that grows back really sharp and itchy for me. Wax was fine I went to a specialist wax salon and they do lots of pregnant women. It also meant no bandages etc stuck to hairs.

I would never say anyone has to of course but it was happy I did
