so I have a toddler but my birth with my toddler I was induced and it was just a sore experience and I never had early contractions it just felt like constant cramping so I don't really know what it feels like to go into labour myself or what early contractions feel like?

I had a sweep at 9am this morning, I've been having period like cramps they are irregular and also after sweet I had lots of discharge with pink streaks, I went for a nap and since 6pm I've had more period cramps a little more intense, serious pelvic pressure when walking & passing big clumps of what looks like my mucus plug

Is this labour starting? How will I know

Sounds like it!

MamaBear54321 · 30/12/2022 19:24

It sounds like it to me although i never had a sweep . My contractions never lapped on top of eachother untill my waters broke after 3 days of early labour at home . This is ofcourse different for everyone but i would keep active if possible and warm baths to relax definatley moves things along quicker. Good luck 😊

How are you doing @lockdownmummax ?
Any progression from earlier?

lockdownmummax · 31/12/2022 18:22

@WishToBeContent
Was having regular contractions earlier on but they have stopped now :(
I'm really hoping something happens during the night, if not I'm going to call maternity assessment tomorrow as I am so fed up feel like crying lol, baby was measuring at 41 weeks at last scan on 23rd December ... they have plans to induce me if this doesn't work but I'm going to call in morning and request this asap as feel left a little as my next midwife appointment isn't until Friday x

How are things OP?

lockdownmummax · 03/01/2023 23:25

@GoT1904
not any further forward :( I keep experiencing false labour where I think right this is it due to the regular contractions and pain but it always stops x

Just to update everyone!

I went to bed on the 04/01/2022 about 11pm with no contractions or anything and woke up at 3.30am on 05/01/2022 with a POP like I really heard a pop and it woke me up... it was my waters, called mat assessment who advised to come in, waited on MIL coming to watch toddler, 30 minutes after waters had broke I was having insane contractions and felt like I had to push, couldn't wait on MIL anymore as contractions where to close so left for hospital, my partner had to abandon his car outside the front doors of the hospital and by the time I got to the Ward I was 8cm and pushing, baby was born 12 pushes later exactly 2 hours and 1 minute after my waters had broke, absolutely crazy !

Congratulations !! Is it a girl or boy? Two of my labours (2+3) were similar. Both within a couple of hours .

lockdownmummax · 06/01/2023 05:48

@autienotnaughty
I had a little boy, I say little he was born weighing 9 pounds 4 ounces lol
It was like something out of a movie seen where the labour goes so quick lol I was so shocked but happy the pain never lasted to long xx
