I bought from Newlook, Next and ASOS last time I was pregnant - I've noticed H&M and Pretty little thing, Boohoo etc sell them these days... any reviews?

I found H&M good

Yellowflower123 · 30/12/2022 16:39

I bought everything from h&m. I've tried to buy clothes that are oversized rather than maternity so I can wear them later. Like oversized jumpers. H&m have good maternity basics like t shirts and leggings too.

Anewhoo · 30/12/2022 16:41

H&M are good for leggings and tops. My dresses are quite loose (think Cos etc), so managed to get away with not having to buy any dresses. Still wear the maternity leggings now they are so comfy.

H and M

Primark now have a maternity section

Blue2020 · 30/12/2022 17:06

I tried m&s and next in the closest town but they removed their maternity section from those stores which was annoying. They will likely still have them in big cities, I guess, I didn’t ask. My mum bought me some maternity jeans and top from primark and they are great. I’m not usually a fan of primark but I do really like these. Comfortable and actually my style. I already had a few big winter jumpers that I think will last. For the jumpers (not maternity) got them from weird fish a while ago.

I bought lots of stuff off vinted, good brands and lots new and unworn but nothing like full price most of the time

Stephanie226 · 30/12/2022 18:26

I buy lots from boohoo, been happy so far 😁😁 x

ohidoliketobe · 30/12/2022 18:29

I've found h&m to be good quality. But last time I just bought a few bundles off Vinted and then sold them on myself once baby was born. Created a bit of a capsule wardrobe with few pairs of leggings and jeans, handful of tops and 4 dresses. Much more practical than buying loads of brand new bits

Shein
if u can wait 7-10 days
nursing brad and tops are great also!

ISeeTheLight · 30/12/2022 22:34

New look is surprisingly good. Also H&M is decent.

Halloumi22 · 30/12/2022 23:12

I’ve found Tesco surprisingly has been amazing this time. Lots of winter jumpers/jumper dresses and their high waisted leggings. I’ve just bought them as a ‘normal’ clothing item but in sizes a good few bigger than my usual and they’ve been amazing.
Always bought with Clubcard reductions so haven’t spent too much really

Pleasenomorecheese · 30/12/2022 23:21

loved new look and even George at Asda!

TokenGinger · 31/12/2022 00:05

I've really rated Asda's maternity range this pregnancy. I've had all of my underwear, jumpers, work dresses, tights etc from there.

New Look for jeans, I liked the Jenna range - the rest all felt a bit frumpy and went baggy on the knees. New Look basic black maternity tees were great, too.

The rest I've had from Vinted.

When I started TTC (years ago), I bought the babynomics book from Madeleine Thomas (2nd handy cheapy from ebay!). I realise its old now, but had some great tips on where to buy maternity wear, options to extend the life of your current clothes, what can and shouldn't be bought 2nd hand etc. There might be a newer version, but even so, worth getting one 2nd hand for about £2.

SparkleSpangle · 31/12/2022 00:35

Smallshow stuff off Amazon is brilliant for maternity and breastfeeding after. If you wanted to do that.

Sassy144 · 31/12/2022 09:55

H&m maternity jeans are great, I bought some on vinted really cheap - I recommend looking on there for bits so you don't have to spend a fortune on maternity clothes.

I have also ended up buying quite a few dresses, PJ's and jumpers from Sainsbury's, Tesco and Matalan that aren't even maternity, just stretchy and maybe up a size or two as needed!

EcoLife · 31/12/2022 10:17

Vinted was so good for maternity clothes as you can get barely worn more expensive brands like seraphine for a much cheaper price.

almost everywhere is online only for maternity wear which is annoying.

Don’t buy from shein. They may have a lot of maternity options but they have horrendous working conditions. There’s a human cost to the clothes being so cheap.
