36 weeks - tired and emotional mess! Anyone else?

Almost 36 weeks. I have found the last few days so overwhelming. I’m so tired, over emotional, I keep crying and snapping at my husband over stupid things when he doesn’t deserve it. I’m trying so hard but can’t control it. Haven’t had this at all throughout my pregnancy. Anyone else felt the same at this stage? Hoping things will settle again, and I have only a few more weeks left at work (which is quite stressful at the moment) so that should help too.

You're still working at 36 weeks? Ever likely you're feeling a bit overtired and emotional @OrcaBlondie

When do you finish?

Yes. I finish on the 13th Jan but only working 8 days between now and then thankfully! 😊

Oh bless you. I'm not working and I'm only 31+5, but I feel like I'm at term. Constant heart burn, aching feet, swelling, carpal tunnel, morning sickness still. It's just such a lot!!! Not to mention the million night time wees and it being hard to roll over in bed.

I agree you're probably exhausted. That plus hormones, you're bound to be grumpy. I hope your DP is understanding xx

Oh no, it sounds like you have it pretty bad ☹️ I hope it eases for you. I’ve been so lucky so far (touch wood!). I did have terrible PGP for around 4 weeks at around 30w but luckily it has eased. Some nights I have to get up at least every hour for a wee - madness! And yes, very uncomfortable in bed. I actually dread bedtime. I think I am just overtired, just not enjoying being so emotional and moody! Will all be worth it though 😊

He is very understanding bless him but that just makes me feel guilty and makes me feel worse lol.

@OrcaBlondie could have written this myself, you are not alone! 36 weeks and so emotional all of a sudden! My feet are killing as they have suddenly swollen, I want to so badly snap at my husband over tiny things but am keeping my mouth shut (just). Suddenly petrified about giving birth and having no control over when it starts. Suddenly just feel very pregnant. Putting on shoes or hanging up washing has become a big job and don’t even get me started on how many times I need to turn in the night to spread the hip pain.
Also plan on working until the 13th to save on maternity the other side but at the moment, not sure how practical that really is given I am knackered! Goodness me, moan moan moan! At the same time, so pleased to be pregnant 😂

We hoping that you both have a gentle time at work until the 13th. My first arrived at 38+1 so you might not get much of a rest before LO arrives Flowers

I felt really awful towards the end! By 41 weeks I was just plain miserable. He was 10 days late.

Don't worry, the end is nigh! When the baby finally popped out it was like the weight of the world was lifted off me. Even in the first week of no sleep and tenderness every time I sat down, I was so relieved to not be pregnant that I was so happy!

Hi @OrcaBlondie i hope you are doing ok and birth went well!
I can so relate to your post. I’m 36 weeks with my first tomorrow. I am so grateful to be pregnant but I feel miserable: lack of energy, mid back pain, hip pain during the night and feeling like there are so many things I want to get done in the house before the baby comes but just don’t have the energy. At my last mw appt 2 weeks ago they sent me for a scan and the baby was breech. See the mw again tomorrow and I’m just feeling hyper anxious about not knowing how birth will be. My work has been quite stressful but I am doing an MSc also and trying to complete before baby comes.
