Hiya mommas wonder if anyone could help me.
I'm nearly 13 weeks pregnant after a miscarriage in august I've had no nausea at all except from today it's been bad not been able to drink or eat anything all day been bed ridden, went to throw up not long ago (tmi) but was throwing up streaks of blood and water, do you think baby is okay? I'm really worried any help would be amazing Xx

You need to call the doctor, throwing up blood is not normal, and i doubt it's anything to do with the baby

Ectopic rant!

From my bfp I’ve had constant severe period cramps and one sided stabbing pain on my left. I then had slight spotting and went to my specialist who said most likely ectopic. Anyway the pains have continued and my HcG is doubling every 48 hours but the pain is consistent and constant .. radiating down my leg and to my hip..

my first scan four days ago showed nothing and today thank God they were able to see my gestational sac. I have been so stressed with every symptom of ectopic and constant scans and it’s just a relief to be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel

I threw up with streaks of blood at around 6 weeks. In my case it was from damaging my throat by the force of throwing up, rather than anything to do with the baby.

13 weeks is quite late to start throwing up though. Do you have a number for your MW?

I never had any morning sickness or vomiting the whole time however when I got to about 9-10 weeks I randomly started vomit. I also have a vomiting illness that has been in remission for over a year so this seemed very random. I was non stop vomiting, no eating for 5 days without a break. I am now nearly 13 weeks and baby is energetic, happy and perfectly fine. I’m not sure what kept it going for the 5 days but I guess it was taking my reserves.

As for the blood, what colour is it and how much is there? The general rule is that bright fresh blood indicates things like throat irritation, or a new bleed and isn’t anything to worry about. Lots of bright red blood indicates a tear in the esophagus which is bad and can be life threatening and dark blood means it’s a bleed deeper down like stomach and could be an ulcer.

your baby should be fine regardless of the cause of the blood but it is usually throat irritation that causes streaks of blood which is common. If in doubt speak to your midwife as previously suggested however I wouldn’t be worried unless the bleeding gets worse and there is a lot which can be an emergency very quick.

btw I took cyclizine in that week I was throwing up and now when I feel a little sick I will take some Cyclizine just incase the vomiting starts up again and I haven’t been sick since 🤞.

I’m really glad to hear you are feeling better!

sometimes we just get a bit overwhelmed and have a bad day. I don’t know about you but I’m hungry about every 3 hrs and when I don’t eat I start to feel sick. I try not to let it go too far because I’m not sure if that will set me up for a bad day or not but it is totally normal to have your good days and bad days. I’m hoping your able to keep this way and have many more good days to come!

By the sounds of if your due date is near mine too 🤗 (9th July) which is pretty cool! Wishing you the best 🫂

Yeah my original due date was 17th July (my birthday) but I went for a scan because my doctor wanted to make sure I was okay and they pushed it to 9th July 🥰 everytime I keep going they keep putting me a week forward, my partner made a joke saying what if they're measuring two babies.

Oh wow I didn’t expect it to be the same date Lool. Mine hasn’t moved by as much as yours, it was originally thought to be the 12th but then my dating scan this week pushed it forward to the 9th. When I had my 8 week scan it was moved from the 12th then also to like the 10th or 11th but since it wasn’t sure until my 12 week scan I didn’t want to keep that one date in mind.. but it was close enough haha.

and rofl 🤣 imagine it was two different ones they were measuring! That would mean there is about a week difference between the two😬. I know this one is a singleton for sure because there wasn’t enough space in there for another to be hiding and this one was quite active and we didn’t see any extra limbs and such but my days the shock if it did turn out that way 🫣

Did the vomiting come back? When you had a miscarriage last time, how far was you and what symptoms did you get to indicate it had happened?

they say once you reach 12 weeks your chance of miscarriage falls to 5%.. they say it doesn’t get any lower than that because obviously there are complications that could happen but that risk is pretty slim in comparison to the other earlier weeks so I will try not to worry yourself as you have now managed to get this far.

There are some women that are sick the whole time or only get sick after the 9th week onwards or others that it happens only in the 3rd Trimester. We are now heading into our 2nd trimester we are safer now than in the first.

Also if your not having any pain, spotting or bleeding then just assume the little one is okay and haha it peanut stage a while ago.. it’s now the size of a lime (lemon at 13 weeks) which is pretty cool.

when you have your 12 week you will get your definite due date, it’s quite in depth and the check the organs of baby, chord and placenta so should be able to see if there is more than one in there. Mine was a combined internal and external so less likely to miss anything however having said that even if at your scan they only find one that doesn’t mean there isn’t more than that because I have heard of plenty of women that ended up having multiples that wasn’t detected at the scan.

oh your 12 weeks is on the 6th? Those dates are out of whack for sure, mine was at 12 weeks but I was only +1 day before the dating and then +3 days after the dating so I’m 13 weeks tomorrow.. in February I have my 20 week scan and between now and then I have at least 2 antenatal appointments.

either way don’t stress more than you need to, it’s already a stressful time so try and relax and enjoy this time.
