Leaking boob!

I'm in my second trimester, 21 weeks, and have had one leaking breast for at least a month now. It's not a lot, just a few clear drops every day, but this is the first pregnancy I've had to get this far and I can't find anything online about anyone else leaking this early or just from one breast. I went to the doctor but they were super vague about it - 'things like this happen'. But do they happen to anyone else?! Grateful for thoughts!

Hi OP in both my pregnancies I had leaky boobs from ridiculously early on. Thinking back it probably started with one then the other a few weeks later. Now 35 weeks and both stream like nothing on earth. Perfectly normal as far as I know.

I’m having a boy and mine started leaking a bit at about 18 weeks 😬

dementedpixie · 29/12/2022 14:27

It's colostrum and it's quite normal to leak from sometimes quite early on in pregnancy

Razputini · 29/12/2022 15:52

Yes very normal! Had it with my first, I'd wake up and have absolutely soaked the bed 😳

TheFormidableMrsC · 29/12/2022 23:08

Personally I'd mention it to your midwife. No harm in being checked out.

Thanks all! I just find it so weird that it's only from one boob and has been for a good few weeks. So I'm torn between thinking - is that one defective? Or is the one that isn't leaking not going to work?! First time I've gotten this far in a pregnancy so everything is a little bit anxiety-inducing!

I would probably catch the colostrum in a syringe (would definitely avoid expressing as its too early) but this definitely is a normal pregnancy symptom.

I had one leaky boob from 12 weeks, with that pregnancy now a healthy toddler. When I started breastfeeding that one definitely gave it up easier, but the other one also worked fine. Boobs are weird.

Ah I'm not alone! That's such a relief. Thank you!
