Title says it all really - just been told at a scan that the wee man is back to back! He wasn't last week so it's a recent change and it makes sense as I'm having lower back pain and have more room/sleeping better!

Any tips for turning him round? Should I be worried? Sonographer basically just said get on the ball but I've been doing that anyway 🤷‍♀️ x

Ex-Midwife here, all fours and lots of rocking in this position. Kneel right down, scrub your floors for something to do!!

Just to add, if baby doesn't turn don't fret too much. Its a variation of normal and quite common. Nothing to worry about at all. I've delivered many a baby sunny side up! Quite special seeing their faces before the back of the head with the little scrunched up face peeking up at you before the body is born! It just means labour may be felt more in your back rather than the front but an epidural can help with the pain here. Labour's can be slower and take longer to establish but it gives your body more time to adjust and get your adrenaline levels high enough to deal with labour pain rather than sudden swift deliveries. Your waters are more likely to go before labpur is established so keep an eye on them. Best of luck, hope labour goes well and you get lovely squishy baby cuddles soon!

Hello! My baby was back to back at 38 weeks. He didn't turn in time for the birth BUT my labour was fine to be honest.

I didn't find the contractions that bad and I still managed a vaginal birth with only gas and air!

Try not to worry yourself and definitely do as PP suggested and get on all fours!

Good luck xxx

Ds2 was back to back, not picked up until the very last minute (as in, was crowning..)he was turned using forceps as he was monstrously big. Otherwise all fine.
