False positives with PCOS?

Has anyone ever had a false positive due to PCOS? I know false positives are rare but can potentially be caused by cysts. My period is a couple of weeks late, I'm exhausted. I picked up a pound shop test today to rule it out really and I got a very strong positive result. If I was pregnant I would be about 5/6 weeks

No. Never got a false positive on a preg test, but have on ovulation tests.

Poundland tests aren't great tho, I'd grab another tomorrow just to be sure. Good luck :)

I have PCOS and as I understand it, it can cause a false positive on an ovulation test as they measure LH which can be unusually high with PCOS but pregnancy tests measure HCG which is different.

I think it’s unlikely to be a false positive. I’ve been pregnant several times, never had a false positive. I’d do another test in the morning to be sure but if you got a strong positive I would say you’re pregnant.
