Hi I'm 5 months pregnant, I went from not feeling my baby at all to suddenly feeling her kick, move and wriggle, for the past week she's been very active, everytime I sat down she'd kick and kick, when I layed down to go to bed she'd kick and wriggle and when I woke up to go to the toilet at night and got back into bed she'd be very active, but last night she wasn't as active and this morning I only felt 2 kicks when i woke up and I haven't felt anything since :( this is my first ever pregnancy so I worry about everything should I be worried about this?

Go and get checked. Any change at all in movements just go and be monitored for a bit, they’d always advise you to go in

Phone midwife. It is more than likely fine but they do advise any change in movements to be checked

EllieRosesMammy · 27/12/2022 13:43

Always go get checked if you're worried about reduced movements x

MadamOracle · 27/12/2022 13:46

Please go and get checked asap. A change in movement needs to be investigated.

If you’re ever unsure call your midwife/hospital triage and don’t let them fob you off.

Lulu885 · 27/12/2022 15:54

OP hope everything is ok x

I think at 5 months it’s tricky to reliably track movements as lots are too small to feel so I would try not to worry too much but as others have said it’s best to get checked ASAP just to make sure.

You don’t need to panic but you do need to ring the hospital.

Lottie917 · 27/12/2022 18:18

Definitely get triaged OP and they should hopefully get you in to be monitored. Don't feel that you're being overly worried, they would rather you go in and get checked. I did about 3 or 4 times when I had DS and the midwives were lovely every time.

Spockrates · 27/12/2022 19:07

@Lottie917 I got in contact they said at 5 months they wouldn't be too concerned about lack of movement, and said everything should be ok I have my 5 month scan tomorrow anyway so hopefully everyone is fine I did feel her move again today which was reassuring but she has been alot more active the last few days than she has been today which was what made me worry

They usually advise lying on the left side for a bit, drinking something cold and have a sugary snack to try promote movement. Glad you felt baby again since this morning.

5 months as in 20 weeks??? It's good you called, but I wouldn't be too worried as babies are sooo tiny at that stage and they have a lot of room to move about still. If you're really concerned, push to be seen though. I'm nearly 30 weeks and I'm just getting a pattern of movement now. Some people don't feel movements at all until 24 weeks. I was told not to track a pattern until atleast 26-28 weeks.
