I thought catching the flu at 3 weeks was my run of bad luck.
Midwife advised me not to get a jab till January due to natural immunity and now I’m pretty sure I’ve caught it again.
Just looking for some reassurance as read some nasty stuff online.
Waiting to speak to NHS 111 now, also booked a private appt at 2.30pm (hopefully one will prescribe meds) 😭
please reassure me mums I feel so ill and worried sick.

Do you have a temperature? If so, you can have paracetamol to bring it down.

firsttimelondonmummy · 26/12/2022 13:44

@Squashpocket I do, I’ll take one now 🙏🏼

I had a really bad case of the flu about two weeks after I conceived. I know it was only once, but my now four year old is running around downstairs and is healthy as anything. I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly - hope you feel better really soon Flowers

@octoberfarm same with me and he looked super healthy at 13 nearly 14 weeks and now I’ve caught it again.
Feel so deflated about it 😥

Really worried about this as I have had the flu now medically confirmed and my temperature was spiking at 39 last night 😭

I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly still, OP. Have you spoken with your midwife at all to see if she can offer any reassurance? Whilst I only had the flu once, I had another serious complication at about 13/14 weeks and baby survived. They are incredibly robust, even at that age. I honestly think it'll be okay. Sending you a hug and hoping you feel better soon with a healthy pregnancy moving forward Flowers

Most likely it will be fine. Lots of people get flu while pregnant. It may even give the baby some immunity going forward.
