Is discharge ok once it's brown and not red? I am 6 weeks pregnant and had little bit of spotting last night, I went to the maternity a and e and they did a pelvic exam and said cervix is closed and no bleeding that they can see.

Today I've had this come out, sorry tmi photo but it's really brown and stringy. Could this be cause of the exam? Is it ok once it's not red?

They booked me in to epu for scan on Wednesday but now I've had this and I'm worried. Can anyone help? Please don't read and run I'm going out of my mind here

Brown blood means it's old and not fresh.

Not sure what's going on for you but at 9 weeks my scan showed a haemotoma and I was told if I bled brown blood not to worry and to call back if it was bright red

Sorry you're experiencing this OP. I've been there and know how worrying it can be.

Generally speaking brown blood is good as it means it's old blood. Keep an eye for anymore spotting and if it turns red call the EPU and see if your scan can get bumped up to an earlier time.

I completely get how anxiety inducing this can be. Unfortunately it is a waiting game and it will be the absolute worst. Try to fill your time with anything and everything to keep you busy / distracted until your scan.

Sending hugs 💐

So glad you had a good scan! In my experience (5 healthy children and 2 miscarriages), brown blood like that is ok. I’ve seen that before. Hope the rest of your pregnancy is uneventful! 😊
