C section infection

Has anyone had an infection in their incision following a c section? I had one 3 weeks ago and I've been super careful but I've developed an infection right in the center of my wound. I'm halfway through the second course of antibiotics but it's looking worse rather than better. Any advice or what worked for you?

Yes I did with my second child (planned section following emcs with my first).
Cutting a long story short I got it checked at hospital on a weekend as a mild infection had got much worse in a few days. They swabbed it and gave me antibiotics. Midwife advised to let air get to it (it was really hot at the time) I basically led down holding my gut up with a fan directed at it. I did this for half hour intervals many times a day. Midwife also advised to ensure I had cotton knickers (as of course I had guge pants on that went over the incision).
That Monday my midwife rang to say I had new antibiotics waiting at the surgery and to collect them asap. My infection had turned into strep a. But all was good after the antibiotics.
If its getting worse then definitely get it checked out!!
I also took photos every day to see how it was getting worse or better...I still have the really grim photo album in my phone 🤣

Yes I did and I ended up going to A&E for IV antibiotics.

My midwife was worried I was developing sepsis due to an on and off fever, but otherwise felt fine in myself.

I was transferred back to our maternity ward to be near my baby who was in the children's hospital next door with meningitis.

I had c section 2.5 weeks ago. Also have an infection in the centre of scar. Is oozing a lot. Have antibiotics, half way through a week's prescription..it's slowly going down but still looks gross to me. They told me to air it out often using a hair dryer. Which really does make it look better but as soon as I stop it looks bad again. Very worrying I hope it goes away soon! And yours too!!!

OP have you managed to get it checked?

Hi, no joy yet unfortunately. I rang the maternity unit and they put me through to foetal assessment who would have been the ones to deal with it, but apparently they only deal with you for 28 days after birth (I'm one day over that so they won't speak to me). So I'll have to go back to the gp a third time or they advised to present to a+e for further antibiotics but I really don't want to sit there with a newborn for hours plus I've no fever thankfully so I'm not sure I'd be emergent enough for that. Gp opens again tomorrow so hopefully this time they'll take a look, so far they've just perscribed over the phone, midwives wouldn't see me in person either. There's a tiny hole in the centre that fluid is leaking from so just want to know I haven't burst a stitch.
