Pregnancy after loss

Super anxious mom here, approx around 7/8 weeks pregnant, unable to speak to the GP as everything is done through self referral online. I have 10yo son and in 2020 my daughter was stillborn at 35 weeks so my anxiety is sky high with not knowing if everything is okay. I am unable to get a booking appointment until 14 weeks and the first scan will then be after this. This seems extremely late, especially for a high risk pregnancy after loss. Please does anyone have similar experiences? Can anyone offer advise?

That is very late for a booking scan shouldn't the first scan be 12 weeks or before? I'm not really sure how it works where you are but can you call the midwife office instead of gp and explain your worries to them?

When I eventually managed to speak with someone, they said this was the earliest appointment that could offer. I understand there is immense pressure on the NHS at the moment but it all seems extremely daunting having to wait so long to have any reassurance or be able to speak with a professional.

That's awful, If you can afford it I would book a private scan for peace of mind x

That is shocking - where are you in the uk and could you try to book in at a different hospital to try and get care earlier?

You could always transfer back to the nearest hospital closer to the time?

I would also arrange a private scan in the meantime to put your mind as rest.

I am very sorry for your previous loss and I am sure once car gets started you will be treated as high risk - if not try and request at booking in appointment
