Positive pregnancy result followed by two negatives?

Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone might be able to help me please. I'm currently on the progesterone only pill and have been for about the last year or so (I don't have a period with the pill, but do occasionally have light spotting). I have to start this by sharing that over the last month my schedule with my pill hasn't been perfect - I've forgotten a couple of times and taken it as soon as I've remembered. Myself and my partner tried to be more careful around these times. Fast forward to this last week, I've been feeling a bit nauseous, super sensitive to smells, slightly sore breasts and stomach cramps - as I was meant to be going out drinking tonight I decided to test just incase. I took a test first thing this morning (it was quite a cheap one from home bargains) and it came up with a faint positive, I then took a more expensive clear blue one a few hours later and it said negative. I then also took another test which also came up as negative - has this ever happened to anyone before? Could I have done the test wrong, or the test been faulty potentially? The emotional side of this has been quite strange - a baby wasn't in my plan for right now (hence the pill), however I almost immediately got my head around it and felt happy. Then, when I got the negative result, I felt upset and disappointed. It's been a rollercoaster of a day! Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.s. I'm not going out tonight just in case!

Those clearblue digital tests are not very sensitive compared to the positive test you've done so if you are pregnant and very early on then the digital wouldn't show yet.

I'd say your symptoms coupled with a positive test point to you being pregnant but would do another pink dye test in a day or two to see if the line is stronger/more obvious

Hope you get the outcome you want x

Your first morning urine is the most concentrated, so it’s quite likely you are very early pregnant, and the later dilated urine wasn’t concentrated enough to detect the hcg. Test again tomorrow morning and you should get a definitive answer.

I had this I done a digital & said negative but 4 days later a pink dye & then digital showed positive so there is a chance you are as that pink dye one is definitely a faint positive- could you of ovulated slightly later on- I was so set on my dates however I was dated 5 days behind what I thought so looks like I may of ovulated a little later than I thought/normal

Hi - thanks for your reply 😊 unfortunately I've got no idea on my ovulation since my period stopped through the pill, nor do I have any idea about a period start date etc :( which is annoying!

Heyy, a year later and I'm in the same position as you were! Can I ask what happened? I had a positive and then two negatives.. not sure if it's a chemical pregnancy or whether it's just too early.
