24w - Colostrum laxative effect on toddler?

So I'm still BF my 2y2m toddler and I'm 24w pregnant with DC2. Could colostrum have kicked in already? Toddler only BF once (occasionally twice) a day, no more than 10/15m total.

This week the toddler has had some...side effects (to be polite)!

I don't think it's a tummy bug. Toddler is perfectly well in themselves with no dietary changes or changes to eating patterns, so it's just occured to me that perhaps it could be colostrum causing it?

Anyone know when colostrum starts in pregnancy?

I think around 35/36 weeks? I'm 36 weeks tomorrow and not producing any. I'm still nursing 2yr3m DD, but nothing is coming out. She just nurses for about 5 mins to fall asleep at night.

Ahh ok. I don't know anyone else who has BF for this long or through pregnancy either so it's good to hear your experience! Maybe my toddler has a poorly tum after all 🤷 Good luck with the rest of your pregnancy, birth and the fourth trimester!
