Ok I know I'm being ultra paranoid here but so far I've avoided any nail varnish/remover etc throughout pregnancy but am now 20 weeks plus..and well frankly I am missing my nicely coloured nails.

Is there any reason why I can't indulge myself with manicure/pedicure? I guess what I am particularly paranoid is the smell (esp of nail varnish) and potential effects on the baby.

I admit this is a bit of a ultra cautious mum worry but anyone out there got any thoughts on tnis or am I really being very silly?

I know I am but that reassuring -reason is had a few previous pregnancy issues and think I may have taken some of the advice on being careful a bit too seriously

Going to dig out the nail varnish tomorrow...

Thats it, you get on with it and enjoy, being pregnant is hard enough without little things like that getting in the way!!!!xxxx

Enjoy the fact that you can reach your toes! I'm 32 weeks and I'm definitely going to treat myself to a pedicure because I can no longer reach my toes .

I find painting my fingernails a waste of time because my nails are growing so quickly.

Have a mani/pedi but maybe stay away from nail extensions.

Manicure, Pedicure, Massage and pamper away! Would suggest avoiding nail extensions and I believe that a couple of weeks before due date you should remove coloured polish off of nails in case you end up in the operating theatre for an em cs.

Although can't remember where I heard that! Nail polish smell is not going to be harmful, my Mum owns a few beauty salons and she has two pregnant therapists who spend all day every day painting nails!
