Hi!

I feel like since falling pregnant all I’ve done is worry!! We’d been TTC for 10 months so our positive test came as a very happy surprise! I’ve been petrified of something going wrong since finding out around 2 weeks ago.

last night I had some brown spotting, a very small amount but enough to cause me to panic.. this then turned slightly more red but still very light this morning and now nothing at all. I had bleeding on CD 21 which I think must have been implantation and nothing since then.

i messaged my GP this morning and they just said that it is quite common in early pregnancy and that there’s not much they can do so early.

im just wondering if anyone had any experience of this?! In my head it’s the worst case scenario so just looking for some reassurance!

thank you 💕

I'm 5+4

I had pink spotting after sex on Monday night. Bled yesterday morning 5-8 ish and then brown discharge yesterday. No clots

Rang the doctors they put me on to 111. 111 at 10 said they'd ring me in 2 hours.. they rang at 18:00 and said I was still on their list and to keep my phone on loud. Went to bed at 1am.. they rang at 4:48am and left me a voicemail saying they'd tried to call so were closing my call. Rang the hospital tonight who said speak to my Gp to be referred to epac. Rang my gp who told me to ring 111...

I'm going to test again in ten days.

I've also been worried since finding out.. never known anxiety like it.

I have had a few miscarriages. I am afraid that in my case bleeding was always a miscarriage but that is definitely not the norm. Lots of women bleed in early pregnancy and go on to have healthy babies.

There is really nothing they can do. They can't intervene to save the foetus and they can't see anything in a scan that early. It's a horrid situation but you just have to wait it out. Most Early Pregnancy units will scan after 6 weeks. Just self refer to your local one when you are closer to six weeks. Good luck.

Hey mgwyegve,

Sorry to hear your worrying. I am always extremely anxious in pregnancy too, your not alone there 🙂
In my 1st pregnancy I had brown/pink spotting from week 6 to almost week 13. The midwifes werent concerned as they said theres so many changes expecially cervical as it changes completley to support pregnancy.
Then I had red bleeding at week 15 and 18. It wasn't until week 18 I went to a "further along" pregnancy ward and they examined me and found I had something called cervical ectropion.
Fast forward to now pregnancy #2 and I'm getting brown/pink like before (I had a scan for completely unrelated issue) and everything is fine, so I was told again by my early pregnancy unit and midwife it's probably cervical ectropion again.

Also it's REALLLLLY common in early pregnancy I never realised how much as it seems to scary.
If your concerned give your midwife or early pregnancy unit a ring and I'm sure they will be able to reassure you or just chat to you about what to look out for so your not stressed.

Try not to worry too much as once these early stages are behind you and you feel your baby wiggling it's much less stressful.

Best of luck 😀
